"Aline, you coming?" A voice said. I snapped out of my reviere and focused on the voice.
"Yeah. Just a second, I need to get something from my locker. You get going, I'll catch up." Another voice responded. I heard light footsteps towards the locker I was currently situated in.
"The hell?!" The voice said."Why are my things splattered all over the floor?"
I froze. The locker I was in belonged to this girl. s**t.
I wanted to get out as soon as possible but I was currently bleeding very terribly. My white shirt was drenched with blood spots and some had pooled on the locker floor.
'Please don't open it.' I thought. I didn't know what would become of me if this girl turned out to be like the girls back in New American School.
Their first reaction to my painful state would be to pull out their expensive phones and snap a picture. I didn't want that to happen here. If pictures of me get viral, then Jacob and my parents would all get to know of it.
I said a silent prayer to God. I didn't believe in God. The misery I was put through every day washed away every ounce of faith I possessed. But extreme situations call for certain measures and praying gave me a little hope.
But my prayers were washed down the drain when I heard the locker door slam open, followed by a shriek. A raven haired girl was staring at me with shock, her eyes bulging out of her sockets. I was surprised nobody came rushing to find the source of the scream.
Then it hit me that school had been over two hours ago and that this was one of the girls who stayed behind for club activities. Placing a hand on the locker door for support, I slowly got up and exited the crammed space. I stared at her expression, debating on her next move.
Was she going to click a picture, whack me in the head or report me as a victim of bullying?
I tried to look as unharmed as possible despite the blood red color of my shirt but failed to do so.I felt a burning pain on my abdomen, where the guy had punched, as though someone was slowly dragging a piece of hot iron across it. I hissed in pain but quickly wrapped my palm around my mouth hoping the girl hadn't heard it.
Her eyes narrowed at my hand.
