Emery's classmates’ voices became even louder because of what she had said. “Believe what you want to believe! Think what you want to think about me! I don’t owe anyone an explanation about my life! Even though I have done nothing wrong to all of you, this is what you are doing to me today. Just because I am living with a nun, does not mean that I am weird or not a normal person. I am not involved in Steph’s death!” Emery shouted to them angrily. She could not help but to feel mad to her classmates.

“Your a liar! We already know your true colors! Don't hide your identity anymore. You will never be friends again for life because you are a monster! You are a monster!”

"Monster!"

"Witch!"

Emery's classmates stayed away from her when Emery suddenly prayed about what she had learned in Heaven's Temple. What she is praying for now is for the demons that are spreading around. That’s what the nuns taught her before. She did not know why she suddenly uttered those words in front of her classmates. But she wants them to be quiet.

It would be better for them to fear me than for them to always fight and yell at me. It would be better for them to just believe what they think about me so that they don't come near me again.

“Acuda en ayuda de los hombres que Dios ha creado para Su semejanza y a quien ha redimido a gran precio de la tiranía del diablo. Venera como su guardián y protector; a ti, el Señor ha confiado las almas de los redimidos para ser conducido al cielo. Ore, pues, al Dios de la paz para que aplaste a Satanás pies, que ya no pueda retener a los hombres cautivos y dañar.”

"What the hell is she talking about right now?"

“Oh my gosh! Is she now praying the ritual of witches?!”

“Maybe she's cursing us right now! I’m scared!”

Emery's classmates became scared of her. Especially and they don’t understand what Emery is saying. Emery looked down on them as she recited the strange prayer. Even she still does not understand those prayers, she had previously asked what those prayers meant to the nuns. But the only answer she has is that, she will also know when the right time comes.

“Ofrece nuestras oraciones al Altísimo,

para que sin demora puedan atraer Su misericordia sobre nosotros; agarrar el dragón, la serpiente antigua, que es el diablo y Satanás atarlo y echarlo al abismo para que no seduzca más a las na jones.”

“Emery! Stop it! Why are you telling them your prayers?! ” Kate shouted at her. She also knew those prayers when they were children. But she doesn’t remember that anymore. Emery stopped then angrily looked at Kate. Emery gasped at the volume of her words and the speed with which she spoke.

“I thought you were my friend until the end. I never thought you would do this to me today. I don’t know the reason why you shunned me and said you weren’t my friend from now on. But it's better that we don't be friends anymore,” Emery told her.

But Emery thought it was only right that Kate should avoid her. She wouldn't like it when Kate got involved in the problem of her classmates with Emery again. She thought that she wouldn't want Kate to be bullied by their classmates either.

"What's the fuss going on here?"

Everyone was quiet when their teacher arrived. The students quickly pointed at Emery. Emery calmed herself. “She is the one who started the trouble here today. She is bewitching us.”

“What are you talking about? What is witchcraft? You should not say such words to some fellow students,” the teacher disobeyed them.

“But it’s true! She was like cursing us earlier. We could not understand what she was saying and another one sounded like ‘witches’,” explained by another student.

"Emery Quinn, can you explain to me what they were talking about?" the teacher asked Emery. “I was just praying their souls. They kept on telling me that I bewitched Steph, that’s why she died without any reason. They also told me that my guardian is not a real nun but a witch. But I already told them that I am not a witch nor my guardian. We don’t know anything about witchcrafts. But then, they were still insisting that I was the reason why Steph died,” Emery explained to the teacher.

“Class, don’t say the name of Steph again. I don’t want to hear it from you. Your classmate died and you should pay respect to what had happened to her. We don’t know the real reason. Even the police or doctors can’t even find any reason or evidence why she died. So please, don’t accuse anyone like that,” the teacher scolded them.

“It's just amazing that she died suddenly after they had a fight with Emery. We researched yesterday and anyone could die of witchcraft. There was no sign of any wound or anything else on Steph's body but there was blood coming out. It means that she was bewitched,” continued by another student.

The teacher shook her head. She did not know how to persuade her students not to believe in such things. “Witches are not real. Another was a nun Emery's guardian. So I don't want to hear you fight her anymore. Emery is a nice girl and smart. Unite and be friends. Steph will not like it when she sees that you are sorry for her death.”

The students have not told her anything again. She started teaching so the students sat in their seats. Emery is no longer next to the chair. Almost everyone has moved away from her. Their teacher just let them go. She thought it would be better for Emery's classmates to stay away from her. Especially since they might even hurt Emery.

Emery also prefers to be away from her classmates. Right now, she just prefers to be alone and not with others. Before their teacher left the classroom he told them not to make a mess again.

Emery had break time and she decided to just leave their classroom. As she walked, the other students looked at her. They also move away from her that you think she has a chronic illness.

They seem to have heard what my classmates were telling me earlier. Maybe that's why they stay away from me. That’s okay because I don’t know them either. Especially since I don't care what they want to think about me.

Emery didn't even have to go to the canteen. She already has a bag of food sent to her. There she ate in the garden of Hellviore High. The breeze is nice there and the atmosphere is cozy. It was also quiet so she preferred to be alone there.

As she ate alone, she remembered how her and Kate had bonded back then. They also became friends for several years. She did not expect that when she entered Hellviore High they would lose their friendship.

"If Angel were here now, maybe the three of us would last longer," Emery whispered to herself while she is eating.

She just felt very sad because of what happened that day that she did not expect. Sister Anasha ignored her before she went to the academy. She lost a friend which is Kate. That's why, she remembers the time she and Kate were together. Every time they were eating and laughing together, Emery remembered all of it. She didn't want to cry at the academy so she just held back her tears.

It was only right the right thing to do that she avoided me. She also has a lot of friends and she is happier when she is with them than watching my every moved at this academy. I don’t want her to feel like she is my slave because Sister Anasha told her to keep an eye on me here in Hellviore High.

Emery had almost no appetite but she still tried to finish her food. She felt a presence walking closer to her seat. She looked at it and saw that it was Kate.

"I just want to say that I seriously don't want you to be my friend anymore," Kate said immediately to her. Emery stood up straight and then confronted her.

“I understand your decision. I will respect that. But I would have liked to know what your reason is and all of a sudden you don’t want to be my friend anymore? Is it because, most of my classmates are fighting with me and you don't want to hurt me?” Emery asked Kate. But she shook her head.

"That's not the reason why I want to end our friendship. We're far from each other, Emery. Now I just found out that you are in the top rank and I am just an ordinary person. We can't be friends for long. So right now we have to finish what we started.”

She couldn't understand what Kate's main reason was. But she never argued again. "Thank you for everything." After Emery said that, Kate turned her back on her. Emery even noticed that Kate's shoulder was going down and up as if she was crying. Kate quickly ran away from her.

“You are still a friend to me, Kate. I will consider you a good friend forever. No matter what happens to us as we grow old, I will never forget you. You two and Angel have made me happy since we were kids,” Emery whispered to herself then cried after seeing her friend walking away.
