ANGEL IS MISSING

1400 Words
“Did anyone see Angel? It’s been an hour and she was still not found. Do you really not know where she went?” Emery asked all of the kids. They can’t continue their training because Angel is still not there. “Maybe she went home? She doesn't do anything here and just watches us. Maybe she got bored, that’s why she went home by herself, ”a boy answered Emery. “How about you, Steph? You didn’t do anything bad to her, do you?” Emery asked Steph suddenly. Steph stared at her when she heard what she said. “What? Are you blaming me again? I'm just keeping quiet here because I don't care where your friend is,” Steph answered, annoyingly. “Are you sure that you didn’t do anything to her? She’s not the type of a kid that will go home by herself. Besides, she also can't afford to go home alone. She is even happier when she is in Heaven’s Temple than in their house,” Kate replied. The nuns, on the other hand, continue to search for the missing child. So all the children stayed inside the church and Emery talked to them. “I already told you, I don’t even care about her whereabouts. So please, don’t ask me again or even think that I did something bad to your poor friend,” Steph answered again. She even rolled her eyes at them. “Are you really not guilty, Steph? I saw you earlier that you were talking to Angel. I am not sure what you guys talked about but I saw you hiding. Although, I don’t know where Angel went after you guys talked.” Another kid interrupted to their conversation. Steph stayed calm and didn’t show them that she was shook. She didn’t expect that someone will witness that she talked to Angel earlier. Steph is also feeling nervous because Angel is still not coming out of the room. She thought the door wasn’t locked anymore, so why didn’t Angel still come out. Maybe she doesn’t know how to simply open a door? She’s really dumb. “I just talked to her because I heard her murmuring the prayers wrong. Is it wrong for me to scold her even though I know what she was saying the prayers wrong? She’s not taking the prayers seriously. It was as if the prayers were a joke for her,” Steph said. “Didn’t you see where she went? Maybe you said something bad to her so she got hurt and left Heaven’s Temple?” Emery said again. “I just scolded her a little. I didn’t hurt her or whatever you think. I did nothing wrong to her.” Steph looked at the girl who had spoken earlier. "Did you see that I hit her?" The girl nodded, “No. I just saw you approach and talk to Angel. That’s all,” she replied. “See? So don't ask me where Angel is. I don't know where she went. Another is that, she is older than us, for sure she knows to go home even if she is a special child.” Emery was about to answer Steph when the nuns arrived. "Are you sure none of you have seen Angel?" Sister Anasha asked the children. Everyone shakes their heads and says they haven’t seen Angel. "Call her parents and ask if Angel was already home," she ordered the other nuns who were with her. Sister Chloe called Angel's mother. But the mother just said that Angel was not in their house. Especially since Angel doesn't know how to go home alone. "Where did that kid go?" Sister Anasha asked. Emery and Kate are already worried for their friend who is now missing. “This is where our training ends today. Tell the parents of these children to pick them up here now because we finished early,” Sister Anasha announced. The other nuns continued to search for Angel. Emery observes Steph’s action. She looked to see if Steph really had nothing to do with losing her friend. But Steph was quiet to one side and with her friends. She couldn't predict what was the possible reason why Angel suddenly disappeared. Especially since that child has a disability, so the nuns are all looking for her now. Emery noticed Sister Anasha looking around and seemed to be checking to see if anyone was following or looking at her. Sister Anasha was going to the multi -room hallway, where they could not enter. Emery was surprised by Sister Anasha's actions so she followed her. She noticed that Sister Anasha had entered the third room in that hallway. She ran closer and then pressed her fear to the bedroom door. "Did the girl go here inside?" Emery heard the nun asked. She pressed his ear closer to the door to hear Sister Anasha's answer. “The girl with disability suddenly dissapeard. Was she here?” the nun asked again. A girl with disability? Is she referring to Angel? But why did she asked if Angel was there earlier? Angel wouldn’t even try to disobey the rules. She knew that the kids weren’t allowed to enter every rooms here. “I already punished her. She is already with me forever. A bad kid like her doesn’t deserve to live in the world.” Emery felt horrified when she heard that strange voice of an old man. She knew it was an old man but she could hear his voice strangely. It sounded like in the horror movies she had watched before. She could not explain why the voice she heard the nun talking to was not like that. What does he mean? Is he with Angel forever? How did that happen? What did he do to Angel? Who is that ‘old man’ with the scary voice? Why is Sister Anasha talking to him? Many questions run through Emery’s mind right now. She didn’t know why someone was telling him to enter that room so she could see who Sister Anasha was talking to. But she restrains herself. She was afraid that when she was caught the nuns would scold and punish her. "She's here..." When Emery heard that, she immediately ran out of the hallway. She had heard that words when Sister Anasha was talking to an old man she had also talked to. But Emery is sure that Sister Anasha is talking to another old man in that room. Steph stopped Emery when she saw her running away from the hallway. “Where do you think you’re going? Why are you running?” Steph asked her. Emery stopped and then looked at Steph. Emery was already sweating from fear. But when she encountered Steph, she immediately pulled her away from the children. “Are you really sure you didn’t do anything to Angel or maybe you didn’t see her where she went? You have to tell me the truth,” she told Steph. Steph removed Emery's hold on her. “You're just a normal kid, so don't tell me what to do. How many more times do I have to tell you that I did nothing to your friend and I don’t know where she went? If you don't want to believe me, that's your problem. I know in myself that I have done nothing wrong to her,” she replied. "I hope Angel is fine and in the safe place," Emery murmured to herself. Steph rolled her eyes because of what she heard. She even thought about something. Your good friend can't even get out of that room now. She’s so stupid. Sister Anasha came out crying so everyone looked at her. “I have an announcement. I just got a call from the police. They found a kid that died to an accident near the Heaven’s Temple. And the kid was identified, it was Angel... ” Not everyone could believe the news they heard.
