Chapter 2: First day at work

I wake up ten minutes after seven and I realize I'm late for my first day. I get up rushing around because I didn't want to get in trouble. Then, I hear a male voice. Late on your first day I see! I turn around to be greeted by such a handsome face. Relax I'm not going to tell anybody he gave me a smirk as he stopped speaking. Who are you? I asked. The guy slowly walked up to me placing the back of his hand on my cheek. Well, you are my servant after all. My mouth quickly widens at his statement. What? cat got your tongue? he said. He then cuts me off, when my father isn't around you may call me Paxton. Okay well Paxton I really should be going you know so your father doesn't kill me for missing my work as a servant. Oh of course but first can you tell me your name? Its Catherine but some call me Cathy I said softly to him. Cathy! now that has a ring to it, then he left. I then start heading my way down all the stairs. After what felt like an hour I finally found the kitchen. There were others in the kitchen. Hello I'm new to this job I greeted. Everyone turned to look at me and then they started greeting themselves too. Hi I'm Kayla a girl said and this right here is Mason and Lily. Hi I repeated myself. I'm Catherine I smile at them. Just then the kitchen door swings open and it's a good looking guy. He grabs my hand , kisses it and introduced himself. Hello, I'm jack. Catherine I exclaimed. Have guy guys met Michaels son Paxton yet? Kayla looked at me, the prince? Prince? I looked at her. I didn't know he was a whole prince. Kayla looked at me before speaking, be CARFUL Catherine he can be even worse then his father sometimes especially when he's hungry. but he seemed so nice this morning. WHAT! he greeted you this morning? Jack says. Yes I rub my arm awkwardly. Kayla looked at me, Catherine Jack seems to like every girl who works here so he was probably jealous she said. Kayla I got word from Michael that I'm going to end up marrying his son and becoming a vampire. Oh no girl you don't even know. one little kiss from the prince will make you fall in love and if you don't fall in love then his father king Michael will kill you she said. Mason spoke That's what happened to Shayla, his ex girlfriend. Wait wait so what happened again I plead. Lily spoke Shayla was Prince Paxton's one true love and she was human too. well long story short they fell in love and he turned her without his father's permission and he went to greet her in the morning and he found her dead in her own bed with a wooden stake through her heart. Apparently he went off the deep end after her death. Wait so she's dead? Michael killed her because his son fell in love with her? I asked. yes, Lily exclaimed. Kayla looked at Mason with sad eyes. what's wrong? I asked.
Shayla was masons sister. My heart breaks for Mason. Mason I'm so sorry you have to deal with that I say trying to comfort him. It's whatever at least I don't have to see him every morning like you do Catherine, he said sadly. I have to see him everyday? Yes Mason said. Kayla then spoke again you have to give him his breakfast every morning at eight o'clock. We make it and you deliver. After you deliver his food, you do whatever he asks you to do and sometimes he will even feed on you if his cravings don't go away. Lily looked at her watch that she had on her wrist, It's almost eight o'clock now and foods ready. Good luck Catherine she said. Good luck everyone else said. I grab the plate that has bacon and eggs and sausage on it. I start walking out of the kitchen. I slowly start making my way upstairs. I see his bedroom door. I knocked three times waiting for Paxton to answer. He finally answered, Oh Cathy right? he said taking the plate. Um yes that's me. Hey come on in you can be my company while I eat. Okay I said. He has a small table near a window in his room. I sat down after he sat down first. So I heard some things about you I said. Oh really and what was it? he said. About Shayla....
I exclaimed he immediately dropped his fork and stopped chewing. You need you leave Cathy. Paxton wait I think you should talk about it so it's more healthier for your mindset I said. Cathy leave now! he yells. No what your father did to you isn't fair. My father didn't do it, I did. I quickly grabs my arm and bits my wrist. I start screaming. He then stops and looks me dead in my eyes, "You won't scream" he said compelling me. Okay I agree with him as he drinks from my wrist. Then he compells me to leave his room and to take the rest of the day off. Okay I said as I leave his room and make my way back to mine. I lay down and quickly fall asleep.
