Chapter 11: Final Task

507 Words
The students filed into the dueling room, their footsteps echoing off the stone walls. The room was spacious, with high ceilings and tall windows that let in the faint light of the late afternoon. They gathered around the edge of the room, their eyes fixed on the two figures at the center. Alex and Morgana stood at opposite ends of the room, their wands raised and pointed at each other. Alex's eyes were narrowed, his jaw set in determination as he prepared to cast his first spell. Morgana stood tall and confident, her eyes bright with anticipation. Without warning, Alex cast a spell, and a burst of energy shot towards Morgana. She raised her wand and spoke a few words, and a shimmering shield appeared in front of her, deflecting the spell and sending it back towards Alex. He dodged out of the way, his movements quick and graceful. Morgana cast a spell, and a burst of flames shot towards Alex. He countered with a freezing charm, but Morgana was too quick, dispelling it with a wave of her wand. The two continued to exchange spells, each one trying to gain the upper hand. As the minutes ticked by, the duel became more and more intense. Alex and Morgana were both panting heavily, sweat dripping down their foreheads as they continued to cast spells back and forth. The rest of the group watched on, their eyes wide with awe. Nathan and Luna cheered Morgana on, their voices rising above the din of the duel. Leo rooted for Alex, his fists clenched in excitement. The two were evenly matched, each one dodging and weaving as they tried to outmaneuver the other. Finally, after what felt like hours, Morgana cast a powerful spell that sent Alex flying across the room. He hit the ground hard, the wind knocked out of him as he struggled to get back up. Morgana stood over him, her wand pointed at his chest. For a moment, it seemed as though she might strike the final blow, but then she lowered her wand and offered Alex her hand. He hesitated for a moment, then took it, pulling himself up off the ground. The two stood there for a moment, catching their breath, before the rest of the group rushed forward to congratulate them. "That was incredible!" Luna exclaimed, beaming with pride. "You both cast some amazing spells." "I couldn't agree more," Nathan chimed in. "The magic you two were casting was truly impressive." Alex and Morgana exchanged a small smile, their rivalry forgotten for the moment. They had both given it their all, and despite the fierce competition, there was a sense of camaraderie among them, a shared respect for each other's skills and determination. As they left the dueling room, the group felt a sense of pride and accomplishment. They had faced their fears and proven themselves as true wizards. And as they looked ahead to the challenges that lay ahead, they knew that they were stronger together than they ever could be alone.
