Valerie Bennet wanted to hide in embarrassment due to the words she had just spelled out.
It was more insane than her previous plan, and she had no idea why she felt so secure about proposing it to someone like Warren.
Val wanted to go back in time and pretend she never said anything like she wanted to go back and cancel her whole wedding before it happened.
“… it would be bad if one of us was caught with outside partners during this time.”
Nevertheless, the comments said back in the low and magnetic voice of the Asian man drew her attention to him, causing her heart to beat fast, even if she didn't want it to do so.
“I-I-I would never do that! I want my father’s company back, I have no time for romance!”
Pretending to be braver than she truly felt, Valerie proclaimed, hoping her face wasn't as red as she assumed it was.
“Okay, then.” Nevertheless, to her surprise, it was Warren’s simple words, moving back, leaving Val with a dumbfounded face that couldn't believe what she was hearing until he repeated them to her. “Okay, I will take this deal. After all, it is good for both of us… Or you don't believe in what you said?”
Challenging Valerie, he asked her, considering she could be regretting it now.
“No! Yes! No- I mean, no. I do believe it’s a good plan!” insane enough to take me straight to a madhouse - Val completed her answer in the safety of her thoughts.
Valerie felt so stupid once again, but all she saw back on Warren’s face was a smirk hard to decipher, as she didn't know if he was happy with their deal, mocking her, or thinking about something else.
Mr.Wang was a complete puzzle... one that was even harder for Valerie to figure out now than ever.
Warren’s distinctive features didn't tell much, but they were still attractive enough that Miss Bennett actually thought he looked more like an actor or celebrity than a businessman.
It also made her wonder why she had never noticed it before, even if the answer to that was very easy to tell.
Valerie’s heart was already occupied when they first met and she didn't have eyes for any other guy.
None but Allan existed before it.
“In this case, I believe our deal is up.” showing his charming smirk to her once more, Warren finished saying before he saw something on his phone. “And that being said, we should start it right away.”
Valerie couldn't understand what he meant by it, taking a step closer, the man led down, grabbing her neck next before his mouth touched the sensitive skin of her neck.
It didn't only take her back, but also left the young woman feeling vulnerable and helpless as she pushed him away.
Yet, before Valerie could suspect his actions, Warren answered the question that hadn't yet left her lips.
“There are some reports outside. They always follow me around when I come to parties, so if we want them to believe it is real, we should give them some proof of that.”
As Warren stood again, staring at the mark he left on Valerie’s neck, he was very cold and simple about his reasons that she could no longer complain as she put a hand over it.
“You are right. We-we should do it properly…” pouting like a child, she felt childish while doing so, yet Valerie couldn't stop herself as the man offered a hand to help her get up.
It was just a hickey, not a big deal, or at least, it was what she kept thinking, lost in her own thoughts before she took a deep breath, and right before him, Warren saw how she could easily put on an indifferent facade.
Like nothing had ever happened, she changed her expression as if she changed clothes, leaving the bedroom with a calm and composed self in his arms.
If they would buy it or not, that was the only thing she kept on her mind.
Warren Jaroenchai wanted to laugh due to such amazing acting of her but holding himself back, a mere smirk-like smile was all that anyone else could see on his lips as he walked down the hallway with Valerie.
He held her slender waist tightly, leaving Val completely shy with the nonexistent distance between them.
Overwhelming emotions that Valerie never had before, and without thinking twice, she tried to escape from him, just for Warren to pull her back easily, causing her to stumble against his muscular chest.
His iron hold was all she could think about as his cologne distracted her mind as his lips connected with her and some camera flashes went off, catching the moment of the new unexpected couple.
And, despite thinking she should hate this, Valerie didn't dislike the touch of his kiss at all.
Honestly, she wished the man had kissed her for a little longer, shocked by her thoughts as he stopped when the elevator arrived at the floor and they got in to go back to the ongoing party…
Slim fingers soon caressed her own lips, lost in thought as Valerie pondered over the idea of how she would feel if Warren kissed her again in that closed space.
