Coronation

POV: Genevieve I woke up on the large futon bed of the hidden room. Feeling eyes on me, I opened my own to see sky-blue eyes staring at me. The eyes of my father, ones I thought I would never see due to his supposed death. "Before you say anything sweetheart, I am going to explain everything to you. Nod your head if you understand." His deep voice echoed in the enchanted room. I nodded my head because that's all I could do. I was in complete shock, and angry that my mother did in fact lie about my father's death. "17 years ago my entire life changed. Your mother gave birth to a beautiful little girl whose eyes shimmered purple in the sun and became a pale dark blue whenever she cried. With a head full of dark auburn hair and ivory skin. That beautiful little girl was also prophesied to become one of the most powerful supernatural beings any of us have ever witnessed." My eyes widened at his introduction to his story. "Yes, supernatural my love. That beautiful girl is you, Gwen. You were born to the Lycan King, and his High Priestess Queen. You're a hybrid, Gwen, and because you're born a hybrid, many many people are out to get you for your powers. When you were just 5 months old, the Vampire Lord Salvatore ambushed our kingdom. He broke through the magical barrier your mother created with a coven of witches that despised your mother for being the most powerful witch around, hence why she is named high priestess. Your mother has the power of three covens combined due to the blessing of the night Goddess Nyx. Your other side is a Royal Lycan. The lycanthrope side of your family isn't just any ordinary Lycan you read in your books either, my sweet Gwen. Goddess Selene blessed our bloodlines in hopes to destroy the evil that lurks in her night. The night of your birth, the three goddesses of the night blessed us once again with the prophesied child. Dont you find it uncanny that the full moon just so happens to pair up with your birthday each year?" everything he's saying feels like a fairytale, like I'm dreaming right now. I know some things mom has done throughout my life were questionable. Like her ales that can heal my sicknesses, or not having to pay for any type of commodation when we weren't traveling. Now that I think about it, I have never seen her with cash or a card. He continues, I assume, because he knows I'm in shock. "You have the knowledge stored within, due to your mother's protection spell. But ever since you hit the age of 16, your own powers have been breaking down the spell around your mind. You have visions that you call nightmares, you hear voices in your head, and you make friends with the animals around you. Tell me am I wrong?" He asks. I shake my head no, not able to voice it due to the complete shock I am in. I'm no longer angry at my mother because of the little nuggets in his story, the vampire lord and protection spell. "Come three days Gwen and you will be stepping into your full power. Im sure your mother presumed I was dead to you?" He asked. I nodded. His laugh is rich with genuine comedy."That woman ran with her instincts, but I do not fault her for it. I did make it seem like I was dead as well as you and your mother. The vampire Lord completely destroyed our kingdom with his demons and dark witches. The only thing I could do is hide the things I loved most, with the power gifted to me by being the true mate of your mother." I looked at him, staring and remembering every detail about him like he was going to vanish. "How do I know you are telling the truth?" He grinned so big with his Cheshire smile (now I know where I got mine from) and began to transform. standing before me was a 7ft tall midnight black Lycan with a gold crown, made for a king, on its head. He then transformed back into his human form and, to my surprise, fully clothed. So not EVERYTHING in the books is true. I assume I had an eyebrow raised because the belly laugh that came out of my father's mouth was so loud and clear. "Your books didn't get it wrong, only royals can shift back fully clothed." He laughed. "My sweet Gwen, are you ready for what's to come now that you know of it?" father asked. The thoughts in my head swirled. I always knew I was different somehow, but I wasn't too sure about what. My love for nature is obvious, that is my witch side. The need to be out in the deep woods on a full moon night is clearly my Lycan side. The things i thought made me weird were just parts of me that want to be free obviously. I looked up to my father with pure determination in my eyes. Before I even voiced my thoughts, he spoke "There's the true queen." Time Skip Father said he would need to stay low until tonight, the night of my supposed coronation and birthday party. Mom has been planning my birthday party since we got here. I didn't know why it was so special until I spoke to my father. Now I know why she's been putting so much effort in. She hasn't told me anything about anything so I assume she has been in contact with my father all along. Its currently 6pm and people I don't know are arriving in the foyer and making their way to the now ball room. Hawk has been making introductions since the first set of families arrived, and to say I'm bored is an understatement. The boredom was continuous as families after families arrived. Apparently, all of these families live in the nearby woods in enchanted houses only able to be seen by citizens of the eastern kingdom because mother made it that way. I wonder why we left if she has the power to hide me. I'd been told the western kingdoms royalty would be appearing at my party tonight. I've learned they have taken place in ruling over the wolves and lycans since my father's disappearance. Which he is deeply grateful for, because my father wouldn't have been able to make the plans he made without them. I'm wearing a pale pink dress with a sweetheart neckline that is strapless and floor length. I'm wearing white flats because heels and me don't get along and well heels for over an hour? No thank you! I notice more cars in the driveway and a butterfly feeling swirls in my veins throughout my body. The doors of the foyer open and the room suddenly becomes hot. I hear a howl ring in my ears, one that sounds so familiar to me, one that I feel I am well acquainted with. I look around and finally pair my eyes with light blue eyes with golden specks staring intently at me.
