POV; Genevieve I got out of the car to take in the fresh air and get a better look at my new home. I ran my eyes along the black and white marbled castle, noting the vines of honey suckle on the balcony to the right of the castle. What really catches my eye is the stoned path leading to that same side and I feel my feet carry me there. Once I get closer to the balcony on the path, I see what looks to be a garden maze and my excitement doubles. This feels like a dream as I rush over to the entrance. The wind slightly blowing in my hair as I make way through the maze. I notice one single red rose and decide to take that way, then another one follows, and another, the red rose, leading me on this quest. I come to a dead end, but not an ordinary dead end. This entire hedge of the maze has red roses. The only thing that seems out of place is the single stoned raven with intricate designs lining its head, peaking just out of the maze. My hand has a mind of its own as it traces the design. The wind starts to pick up and I can feel my heart race with anticipation, something is happening. I heard the who of an owl and turned my head to see one sitting properly atop the hedge to my left, staring at me with its honey golden eyes. It coos to me again and I smile, feeling like it's here to guide me. The owl then opens his peppered wings wide and takes flight right through the hedge of roses. Startled, I stared at the roses, curiosity reaching its max point. I touched the roses and I gasped because it seemed to be a hidden door. As I took a step forward, I heard my mom's voice calling me "Baby where are you?, this maze is fun but, its too complicated! Please make your way back to me!" She yelled. "Follow the red rose mama!" I vocalized back. "Baby I don't see any red roses, please make your way back to me." The owl I saw before flew out of the hidden door sitting himself above the door just watching me. I stare back confused. I saw the red roses so someone else should've. The owl coos at me while I make my way back toward the entrance of the maze. The wind dies down, and I hear whispers, "True Queen" they say. That must be a figment of my imagination. There are no kings and queens anymore. I laugh it off, I must read too much. As I saw the brush at the entrance, I saw my mama standing there looking confused about which way to go. I looked at where the first red rose was and sure enough there wasn't one. Baffled, I make no comment about it as momma is bickering. We exited the garden maze to greet a man with a 6ft stature, golden brown eyes, dark brown hair, and a serious look on his face. "Baby, this is Mr.Hawethorne, a very old friend of mine. He is the one who made all of this structure for our arrival." she says with a friendly smile. "Nice to meet you princess, you can call me hawk if you'd like." His seriousness broke character. I feel a genuine sense of wisdom from this man. "Well, Hawk, you are the first human I've spoken to besides my mother in the last 12 hours. So nice to meet ya!" I greeted, with a Cheshire smile on my face. His laugh was contagious and soon we all were cackling. "Well princess, if you and your mother would like a tour of my masterpiece I'd be glad to give it to you." he countered. "Actually, I'm super exhausted and would just like to be shown my room if that is alright with the two of you?" I yawned out. He nodded his head with a smile, and guided me to my room. The castle has a large foyer with four black pillars on each side, each pillar connected to a pair of stairs. He led us up the right staircase into the western wing of the castle. What blew my mind was being taken into a hallway that looked to have complete amethyst walls with a high smoky quartz ceiling. I couldnt help but gasp at the beautiful sight. "This entire wing is dedicated to you princess, your room will be up those stairs ahead." I looked in front of me and squealed, even the small four-step stair case was amethyst. I ran up the stairs excited to see what awaited me in my chambers. I opened the door and nearly bawled. The entire room was swarmed in pink and purple crystals as the walls and ceiling. Hanging high above was a two-tier crystal chandelier. To my right was the balcony that I'd seen outside, and to my left was a fireplace built with the smoky quartz crystal I had seen just before I opened the door. In the center of it all is a four-poster king-sized bed with a deep purple canopy hanging around the golden posts. "I am genuinely pleased with these quarters, this is the most beautiful place I've ever been in. Thank you so much Hawk, everything you've done so far is deeply appreciated." Hawk smiles and nods his head at my appreciation “Of course princess, anything you desire will be within these walls.” I couldn’t help the giggle that came out. Don’t get me wrong mama has spoiled me with all the traveling we’ve done, but this is just amazing. I’m in a remodeled castle that is quite literally made out of crystals. I can’t help but feel like it’s alive too. I look to my left again and notice two doors on either side of the fire place. I’m assuming ones the restroom and the other a closet. “Which door would be the restroom Hawk?” I asked. “That would be the one to the left of the hearth princess.” He replied as he cranked his head. I made my way to the door with my suit case, “oh my god” I squealed amazed. When I say this bathroom came out of a dream, please believe me. This bathroom is larger than a studio apartment. To my left was a purple smoky quartz sink with the countertops a light lavender marble. The mirror was as long as the counter tops. Directly in front of me is a stand up shower with glass doors and a gold lining. Beside it was the toilet, but what really had me was the pink and purple quartz bathtub that matched the walls of my room. It also had a window that looked over the pine trees to view a gorgeous mountain. I turned the beautiful nobs of the tub and stuck my hand under the stream to get the right temperature. Once I was done adjusting I looked around for the necessary toiletries for my bath. I heard mama say dinner will be done in an hour and I had the choice to eat upstairs in my bed or the dining room. After the glorious bath I grabbed the bathrobe hanging on the door and my oral hygiene products out of my suitcase. Finishing my necessities I bring my suit case to my closet and scream in delight. “No way I have a closet exactly like Hannah Montana you have GOT to be kidding.” The closet had a mechanical turning rack filled with clothes. To the right was another mechanical shelf with various shoes. To the left was a shelf full of accessories. When I was done with my excitement I finally gathered myself to pick out pajamas. Once I walked out comfortably I noticed a hotel cart with a tray of food and a card that read “Princess this will be your dinner for tonight, I hope you enjoy, I’m so very glad you are home again and I cannot wait for the true adventure to begin.” True adventure? I just smiled and shook my head. “We’ll see what this place holds.” I opened the tray to see my favorite meal, a medium rare steak with mash potatoes and turkey gravy as well as some corn and asparagus. Tired and full I jump onto the cloud that’s considered a bed. Staring up into the canopy I noticed the dim fairy lights above. Sighing in contentment I close my eyes and drift away into the dream world only to experience a new dream. One I wasn’t ready for.
