Mia's pov
I went inside the mansion only to meet Melissa at the entrance of the door. I wondered what she was doing there at that point in time.
“Welcome back, Mia. Where did you go? Your husband complained that he has been calling you.” She expressed her concern.
I gazed at Melissa from her head to her toes. Then I took some breath in before I opened my mouth to speak.
“I went for a stroll.” That response of mine was a short one. But I think she needed more explanation to what happened.
“Why didn't you pick his call? Your husband called you right before me.” She challenged me on that. And I wasn't ready to tell a lie to cover myself in any way.
“Mother. I saw the call but I wasn't mentally ready to listen to his voice. He disgusts me.” I verbalized.
It was loud and clear to Melissa
