Previously on The Rejected Luna's Vampire Overlord: Evelyn, a wolfless shifter, was publicly rejected and exiled by her fated mate, Alpha Kael, for her younger sister, Sarah. Left to die in the Forbidden Forest during a Blood Moon, she was rescued by the legendary Vampire Overlord, Lucian Von Dracul. Lucian saw a hidden power in her blood and claimed her as his own. Now continue.... The journey through the muddy jungle into the palace was quite terrifying and strange, like stepping out of a nightmare into a dark dream. Evelyn felt the cool breeze of the jungle disappear, replaced by a heavy, lingering fragrance reminiscent of old luxury and incense. She was still in Lucian's arms, one hand on her shoulder and the other around her waist, holding her tightly. Her grip was as strong as iron, but he was taking her with such love, as if she were made of clay or glass. Evelyn came to her senses. Evelyn looked at his jawline—absolutely sharp and white—and felt something so different, it seemed to belong in this world. "Where are you taking us?" she whispered. Her voice sounded very small in the large hallway. "Home little bird," Lucian replied. His voice was strong, as if clouds were roaring somewhere far away. He didn't stop until they reached a large room. He sat Evelyn down on a soft, velvet chair, next to which a green carpet was burning in the fireplace. Evelyn felt strange there, unable to understand anything. Her dress was torn, her feet were caked with dirt and grime, and her heart was still filled with the words Kael had yelled at her. Wolfless. Disgrace. And wrong. "Little bird, you're thinking about him again," Lucian said, handing her a cup of tea. It wasn't a question. He stood with his back turned to the large window. The corners of his coat shone in the moonlight from outside. The night was so dark that the howls of wolves were heard from far away in the mountains. "What else can I do? I'm not worthy of anyone," Evelyn said, wiping a tear from her cheek. "I'm gone. My mate, my pack... my identity, everything." Looking at her flat chest, he said, "I'm not good enough for anyone." He rejected her and said, "I'm not good enough for anyone." He chose my sister. Lucian turned around. His red eyes were fixed on her. He came closer to her. He was looking at her with so much love, he was looking at her with such intensity that Evelyn's body started to tremble. "Little bird, a mate who rejects you can't be a mate at all. He just wants a body." But he didn't see the potential in you that I can clearly see. "And a pack that throws you in front of such a beast is just a bunch of useless people," he said, and slowly started moving towards her. His every step was enough to make her shiver. "They saw you and didn't see anything because they are blind. They only see the wolf outside, little bird," he said, moving his hands around her waist over her tattered clothes. He stopped after a while and knelt down in front of her. It was a strange sight, a king was bowing before a girl who was thrown away like a gutter insect or garbage. He held Evelyn's hand and said what lovely hands you have. A different kind of current ran through her body. Lucian said "Don't be afraid little bird, I am just saying how lovely the luxury nail extensions of the vampire world will look on your hands". "Your blood...Ahhhh it's so sweet I just tasted two-three drops and I'm already crazy little bird," he said while smelling her hand, He came closer to her, his face was just a few inches away from Evelyn's face. "You're not worthy of them little bird they treat you like garbage but you're a queen a masterpiece of wreckage" Evelyn said wt...wtfff are you saying. Lucian said onlyyy for me... little bird don't worry I won't share you with anyone. Evelyn's breathing quickened. "I don't feel like a Queen. I feel so empty inside. Everything feels strange." "Then my love, let me fill that emptiness with something else," Lucian said, his hand caressing her chin. His gaze fell on the rejection mark on Evelyn's neck; it had now become a dark black mark, causing her a slight pain. "I can give you such strength that they will plead in front of you and you will not even forgive them". I can make you so strong that the entire Silver Moon Pack will tremble on hearing your name, their entire flock will be nothing in front of you little bird. "And... and what do you want in return? And why are you doing this to me?" Evelyn asked. Her heart was pounding, her senses were hot and intense, her heartbeat was also getting faster. Lucian's gaze returned to his eyes. The heat in the room was increasing. "I want your loyalty, little bird. I want you to stay with me in this dark desert, and I want to taste the potential that lies within you." He didn't wait for Evelyn to say yes. He got up, took a small silver dagger from his belt, and made a small cut on his palm. Dark red blood immediately began to flow from inside. "Drink, little bird. Just drink it." He ordered slowly and lovingly. "Little bird, this is the first step. My blood will heal your wounds. It will give you a new taste of this night that you will never forget." Evelyn looked at the drop of blood and stopped looking. She knew that once she did this, there would be no chance to turning back; she would belong to Lucian. She would never be a part of the world of shifters again, nor would she ever be able to go back. She would belong to this night, she would belong to the vampire world. She slowly moved forward and grabbed his wrist with her hand and placed her lovely, juicy lips on his palm. As soon as the drop touched her tongue, she shivered. This wasn't like drinking water or wine at all. This was something different, as if she'd drunk something different at the same time. A wave of current ran from her chest to her fingertips, and suddenly the pain in her legs vanished. The chest pain subsided, and all the pain in her body seemed to vanish. This was no less than magic. She took a deep breath, removed her face, and opened her eyes. She felt stronger and sharper than before. A different kind of glow had appeared in her vision. She could hear the thumping of the feet of the giants miles away. She could even hear the sound of rain falling on the stones outside. Lucian was watching her, a dark and dazzling smile on his lips. "Little bird, what are you feeling? What I'm thinking?" "Yes, Lucian," Evelyn said, taking a deep breath. She felt a strange pull towards Lucian, a different kind of attraction. She wanted to get closer to him, so close, the heat between them felt like a wall. Lucian stood up and made her stand up too. His height was much taller than hers, and she only reached up to his chest, forcing Evelyn to look up. He placed his hand on Evelyn's waist and pressed it hard, "Ahhhh," Evelyn spoke softly. His touch felt like fire even through the clothes. "Little bird, they called you Wolfless," he whispered, his mouth close to her ear. "But they don't know what you are. You're something far more dangerous than a wolf." He bent his head towards Evelyn's neck, his nose brushing the skin of her neck. Evelyn slowly closed her eyes. She should have been afraid, but right now she wasn't afraid, she felt a deep, dark hunger. For the first time in her life, she didn't feel like a victim. She felt quite good. "Little bird, go to sleep tonight and heal yourself," Lucian's voice held a possessive authority. "Your training begins tomorrow. I'll teach you how to use the darkness. I'll teach you to hunt the hunters who drove you out of Wolfless." He picked Evelyn up again, lovingly, and carried her to the large bed. He laid her down on the silk sheets. He didn't leave immediately. He remained there, staring at her red eyes. "Little bird, don't dream about that Alpha anymore," he warned. "From now on, I have a say in your dreams too," he said, kissing her on the forehead. He turned to leave, but Evelyn grabbed his coat. "Lucian, is there any special reason why you really saved me?" He stopped and looked back. The red light of the fireplace shone on his face, and the cool breeze blew in through the window. "Because," he said, his voice echoing in the silence. "Little bird, you know I've waited five hundred years for a woman whose blood is as sweet and maddening as yours. I won't let you go back to that pack of dogs. I'll make you the queen of the vampire world." As he left and the heavy door closed, Evelyn lay in the darkness, still deep in thought. But she still felt Lucian's heat on her skin. She looked at her hands—all the cuts had disappeared. She felt a different strength within her. She closed her eyes, and for the first time, she didn't see Kael's face. She saw two red eyes in the darkness. Rejected Luna had died. And the Night Queen was still awake.
