CHAPTER 6: Wedding Vows

1059 Words
ANNIE'S POV Tae continued,"Sorry for not informing you earlier but we're having our court marriage today..." Everyone went silent. Then Mrs. Choi broke into happy hoots while his father gave a disapproving shake of the head. "Son, why did you choose to disappoint me?" Mr. Andrew finally broke the silence. A sharp glare cut across the room as Mrs. Choi stared daggers at her husband. [sharp gulp] "It's not that...," Mr. Andrew stammered. It's just..." I laughed seeing his flustered look. For a split second I just wished that my marriage would be like this but that haunting voice came back. "Stop daydreaming Annie, you know it's a contract marriage. He doesn't even see you in that light, just wait and see. You're not his type. He just didn't have a choice." My smile dropped the second time that day. Why didn't that voice just let me delude myself even just a little. I sighed inwardly. Mr. Andrew regained his composure clearing his throat," What I meant was that, why not tell us earlier, we would have prepared a nice dowry and organized a big wedding for you." "Dad that's the point." Tae countered. "We wanted it small and with family, right wifey?" He threw the question at me deflecting attention from himself. I didn't give an immediate response as I blushed hard and my ears turned red from the endearment. "Wifey" Tae called out again. I lifted my head slowly , the blush still clearly visible on my as I tucked a stray strand of hair away replying coquettishly,"Yes hunny." I saw a hint of a blush come to his face but it disappeared just as quickly as it came. [clears throat] "It's settled then." Tae quickly reaffirmed. Taking two steps forward, he glanced backwards and those piercing green predator eyes caught mine. And for a second it felt as if my breath was caught away as I drowned in those green eyes. "Shall we?" Facing me fully, he extended an arm towards me. Snapped out of my reverie, i latched onto his hand like my life depended on it. Slowly, we made our way towards the car. Finally in the safety of the car, I asked the question that has been weighing on my chest, "Sir Tae, I have no wedding dress, so how are we gonna make up that lie?" "I've got you covered." He responded cooly but then those thick sexy eyebrows of his furrowed into a deep frown,"Sir?, you have to fix that. He instructed. "Okay hunny." I replied literally exploding as my face was heated enough to dry an egg. [sigh] I could see his smirk as he lowered his hand to cover his face but yet again it disappeared like the mist. "Better." His magnetic voice rang out. "But only in front of my parents or when needed." "Remember, if we meet anywhere in the business world or outside our private matter I know you not EXCEPT when necessary, got it?" He asked, and I frantically nodded as silence reigned once more. [Thirty Minutes Later] We arrived shortly as Tae helped me out to put on my wedding dress before his parents arrived as they were closely behind. Few minutes later, I came out of the changing room marvelling at the stunningness of the dress. I failed to notice a burning gaze watching me from a distance. When I twirled, I suddenly caught sight of his shadow startling me. "Sorry I didn't see you there." I quickly apologized lowering my head. "I hope you like the dress." He asked dismissing my earlier apology. "Yes it's...", "Great then let's go." He cut me mid sentence as he took my hand leading me to the court. I couldn't help but notice how sexy he looked right now with his broad back flexing as he moved. My mind slowly drifted to how it would feel holding it, leaving scars while screaming his name. I felt my cheeks instantly heat up as I shook my head to dispel bad thoughts. We arrived at the hall as I caught sight of Mrs. Choi waving at me. I smiled and waved back at her. The court marriage went smoothly and we took our vows and exchanges rings. Then it was time to kiss the bride. I felt my veil slowly lifted up as my blue eyes met his. They felt very intense and for a split second I thought he wouldn't kiss me, that he'd finally realized his mistake. But all those thoughts were pushed to the back of my head as his lips came hungrily crashing down on mine. He kissed me like there was no tomorrow, like this was the moment he've been waiting for all life, like we were in love... My breath hitched as he kissed me with a passion like no other, stealing my breath away. Before I knew it, my hand found his hair, as I got lost in the heat of passion. I could vaguely make out his parents claps and cheers especially Mrs. Choi's. Then he pulled away, and I suddenly felt a loss as I struggled to get my balance, my vision blurry from the sudden intake of air, when his lips came crashing down again. This time with more passion as of the world around us didn't exist. The priest himself tried separating us,"Ummm lady and gentleman you can do that at home." [silence] There was no stopping us. He finally pulled away when we were both out of breath a thick saliva line serving as a remnant of the passion we both shared. He looked very flustered trying to avoid my gaze- a look I have never seen before after being used to his cold demeanor, and he looked quite cute. We stepped out of the church as we prepared to head home. I got into the car waiting for Tae but he never got in. Confused, I wind down the windscreen on my side raising an eyebrow at him. He sighed, "work related, the driver will take you home." Then he leaned in and pecked me on the cheek. I grinned foolishly feeling content. I wondered if the day would get any better as I thought it was the Universe's way to compensate for my birthday today. If only I knew what awaited me at home...
