Nashville starred in her sleep, the room seemed familiar but she was still a little bit disorientated. Her head was throbbing, she felt someone’s hand on her and she jerked away. When she saw that it was Solana, she relaxed and sighed .
“I am going to destroy that son of a b***h,” Nashville said and stood from the bed. Solana followed her into the kitchen.
“Is that Zikora the same girl you were talking to on the phone? Solana asked.
“That’s the b***h. Now that I think of it, she intentionally bumped into me and wiggled her way into my life. I guess that b***h was curious, she wanted to gauge what she would mostly face off in the future,” Nashville said and hissed. She threw a glass cup into the sink ana it broke.
“This is not the time to be reasonable, I hate it when you’re so calm in situations that require you to be the true daughter of Odin Lloyd. The fact that I know you’re stronger than me even makes me more angry. Stop being the understanding person in the room, this s**t pisses me off!” Nashville said and threw another glass cup at the wall. She snarled and began pacing.
“What do you want me to do ? You see how Alfred’s guards came over you when you couldn’t resist the impulse of tearing the newest couple in town into pieces. And lastly, Father would have been proud of me if he were alive,” Solana said and Nashville scoffed. Solana watched her as she tried calling someone.
“Stupid b***h!” Nashville screamed and threw her phone at the wall. It fell and broke into pieces, she left the kitchen and came back with another phone.
“That b***h has blocked me,” She informed Solana, who only sighed and placed her head on the kitchen’s cabinet while sobbing quietly.
“What the actual f**k! Check this out,” Nashville screamed again and Solana winced.
It was an article by Night Bound Press, one of the biggest press association in Nightingale Pack. On the front page of the newspaper, was the picture of Alfred and Zikora. The writer who wrote the news, stated that Zikora was the illegitimate daughter of Beta Zumba Ankshi.
“This is unbelievable,” Nashville murmured. Solana read through the news report and her mood got even worse. Was that the reason Alfred rejected her? Just because he met Beta's daughter?
Solana decided that she had had enough, she needed some alone time. Away from her raging sister or friends that have not ceased calling her.
She picked up her phone and left the house, Nashville tried stopping her from leaving but she overthrew her. Solana drove about 6 miles before getting to her parents' burial background which was deep in the forest. Solana got down and walked towards her parents grave. She sat in front of them and began talking.
“Hello mum, it’s been a while. Isn’t it?” Solana said and sighed. She watched the crows in groups of threes and fours on other tombstones.
“It’s Alfred, mum. Do you still remember that tiny boy with a runny nose, huge eyeballs and wavy sandy brown hair. How you introduced him as the son of Alpha Anoki Benet then. Well, though he was nothing like his father , he had surely grown to resemble him so much. Solana said and picked up some grass, she playfully threw them at a toad and then watched it hop away.
“What should I do, mum? Daddy, can you please speak to me? Your daughter has been dealt the heaviest blow today,” Solana said and wiped the tears that had begun to flow again.
“Alfred rejected me as his mate today, he humiliated me in front of all the Great families. Nashville is extremely upset and she has been breaking my cups,” Solana said and she chuckled.
”Well, she also broke her phone, typical Nashville. I have to go now, I know you're watching over me and that comforts me a little.” Solana said and stopped talking. She stood and walked back to her vehicle, She didn’t drive to Nashville’s house, instead she drove towards Alfred’s mansion. She parked a few distance away from the house and she walked on foot to it. She knew that she couldn’t get through, the security guards wouldn’t allow it. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath and prayed that Alfred had not thought of reinforcing the fence with wolf traps. She looked around, saw no one in the vicinity and she changed into her wolf form. She went to the part of the fence where the CCTV camera was not working, unless he had restored it she knew everything concerning the house. She leapt over the fence and raced towards the mansion, a housekeeper she recognized screamed and ran back to the house. Solana broke through the door and raced towards Alfred’s room. The door was locked, She broke it and there she saw them, Alfred and Zikora were naked and having s*x.
Zikora screamed and jumped out of bed. Solana didn’t move towards them, she watched and Alfred stood, slowly backing away.
“Solana, you don’t want to do this. Things are over between us, go back to where you’re coming from. If you don’t want to step away, I will call up my Death Squad and they will bring you down,” Alfred said, standing in front of a scared Zikora.
Alfred indeed had a Death Squad, they were extremely trained and highly skilled. They were not used often, because their only purpose was to evacuate the Alpha in a very bad situation where his life was in extreme danger. The guards would kill everyone at the scene, except the Alpha and whoever he says should be protected too. Solana bared her teeth and howled, she stamped her feet and shook her head. She licked her cheeks as tears were rolling down her eyes. A man she loved was now threatening her with his Death Squad. What went wrong?
“Solana, please back off,” Alfred said again, his arms was now widespread, like that could protect Zikora if Solana was indeed coming for blood. Solana howled again, she could hear screams downstairs. The housekeeper she met must have spread the news, she knew that she had few minutes to leave the mansion unharmed because Alfred’s guards would soon be on their way. She watched the naked duo, and anger seeped through her. She snarled and took off. The housekeepers that had gathered near Alfred’s bedroom screamed and jumped out of the way. She leapt over the fence and ran back to where she parked her car. She changed her form and got into her car, Solana hated driving at night and she regretted going to Alfred’s mansion for all that drama.
She switched on the ignition then she noticed cars that belonged to Alfred’s guards coming out of the mansion. Solana knew she was in danger, they weren’t planning on letting her be for the night. She pressed hard on the accelerator, and took off with the vehicles tailing after her. Solana tried her best to drive very fast, despite her eyesight greatly improving at night, she still wasn’t an expert in driving in the dark.
After about 15 minutes of continuous chase, the vehicles stopped following her. Solana heaved a sigh of relief, cursed them and drove to Nashville’s house.
“Where the hell have you been?” Nashville asked immediately as she stepped into the house.
“I went to our parents’ grave,” Solana replied dryly and Nashville stopped talking. She had had enough for the day, as she couldn’t stand Nashville bombarding her with lectures while also berating her.
“You should have texted me,” Nashville said and eyed her suspiciously. Solana wanted to get away from her as soon as possible, Nashville had this uncanny ability of knowing when she was telling lies or telling the half-truth. She narrowed her eyes and raised her hands to stop Solana from leaving.
“You went to that bastard’s place? I can literally sniff him on you. Are you out of your goddamn mind?” Nashville asked.
“I needed to see him, I need to know what happened, why he betrayed me in such a cruel way. Don’t I deserve a decent explanation? You can never understand because you’ve never claimed a mate, not everyone has a free nature like you. He is my soulmate, the one I had dreamt of spending my old age with. Which part of that don’t you understand?” Solana asked and burst into tears. Nashville decided to tune down on her questions, wrapped her arm around Solana tightly. Solana cried, there was too much pain, and she was spiraling. After being held by her sister, Solana felt better. She went to shower and came back to eat dinner. She recounted the event of the day, and the highlight was seeing Alfred and Zikora naked.
“Uncle Malachi called me,” Nashville said, her mouth was filled with spaghetti so Solana couldn’t make out the name of who she was speaking of.
“Which Uncle called you?” Solana asked.
“Which other Uncle do you think cares enough to call?”
Solana nodded and sighed.
“Malachi.”
“Yes, he called me and told us his abode is available for us to stay for awhile till everything settles down here,” Nashville said, and Solana smiled. She imagined him saying that in his deep scratchy voice, he sounded so much like her father. Malachi was her father’s younger brother and the only sibling and he also became their guardian when their parents died in a horrible car accident.
“Even other werewolves that are not in Belvedere currently already know what happened? Because how did Uncle Malachi hear about it?” Solana asked
“There are articles written about your rejection, news men have reported it too. Check your phone, though I wouldn’t advise you to do that now. Some people are saying really cruel s**t,” Nashville said and Solana nodded.
Nashville’s phone rang and she left to receive the call. Few minutes later, she came looking extremely worried.
“An order has been issued for your immediate arrest on the charges of threatening the life of the Alpha and his mate. It’s all over the news, Uncle Malachi just called. We need to get out of here,” Nashville said and she began to pack bags. Solana was too stunned to move, was Alfred really going to get her arrested?
“Looks like we are definitely going to Tiburon. Uncle's farm is starting to look better than the madness going on here,” Nashville said and tear gasses were thrown into the house simultaneously, breaking the windows.
“Get your f*****g ass moving, Solana Lloyd!” Nashville screamed and grabbed her sister.
