THE DUEL

Richard emerged from the dresser and stood before Alexa dumbfounded, just then a knock was heard on the other side of the door. Alexa then quickly asked him to go back into the dresser. Just as he had entered, Alexa opened the door and it happened to be her twin.

" Alexa are you mad ?, what do think you are doing, why on earth would you think of sacrificing your life for Eric ? " Alex asked demanding.

" he is going to die if he fights Blanca "Alexa said. " and I promised his mother to protect him " she replied.

" and so what do I care, you are my only sister and I can't afford to lose you and I would have been less worried if you could use your powers ." Alex said.

then suddenly Richard came out of his hiding place.

" so you have magic ? " Richard asked.

" no you mis heard me " Alex said trying to cover up for what he said.

" no need to lie to him , Richard I have magic but can't use it, it is sealed. " Alexa answered.

" no wonder you were so keen on taking the gaulet " Richard said. " but you have magic and don't use it ".

" It is a very long story for another day. "Alexa said.

" you can't tell anyone " Alex said.

" he won't " Alexa replied " I trust him. "

" what make you think that you can trust him ? " Alex asked.

" because Richard here has magic and not just magic, he's a dragon lord " Alexa said.

" no I'm not I'm " Richard said.

" I know everything about you Richard Wilson " Alexa said.

" but if you guys would excuse me, I will love my beauty sleep."

They left the room and Alexa slept she actually slept till noon.

It was noon already and the duel had already began. Just as the fight started, it started to rain. The fight was not easy because her opponent was using magic while she had to rely on her physical strength. Alexa was beaten, bruised and knocked down hard that everyone thought that she has died. Her father and brother were dumbfounded, they couldn't do anything because it was a duel to the death.

Just as Blanca was about to claim victory by killing alexa, she raised her sword to finish Alexa, as she was about to kill alexa, Alexa dogged and stood up,while she was down, she saw her mother in a vision .

" Alexa" her mother called.

" I can't go on" Alexa replied.

" yes you can, you are the bravest I have ever seen, you do not need magic to beat Blanca, you have the strength of a million Blanca combined , without magic, all she had to do was believe because she was a true dragon queen and not even a bracelet can stop you as long as you believe" her mother said. hearing this words of assurance, she stood up and this time she fought with an unforseen strength. She ended up beating Blanca to stupor that she couldn't get up, but it was a fight to the death, the winner had to kill the loser. Alexa stood over Blanca's head holding her sword to Blanca's neck. she then raised her sword up, Blanca thought that it was her end until Alexa threw the sword on the floor beside her. everyone was surprised that she spared Blanca's life even after trying to really kill her.

" I'm not like you I let you go killing you won't solve anything" Alexa said as she held out her hand to Blanca who bluntly refused, she was shamed at her unsuccessful victory.

" I will come back because Eric must die" she said then disappeared into thin air.

king Derek was angry and stated that Alexa should have killed Blanca when she had the chance.

" who knows what she would do now." king Derek said agitated.

" you have to be ready for it all " Alexa said. " and secondly i am not a murderer " she continued.

" you ought to be grateful to Alexa for saving Eric's life instead you are blaming her for following her heart. if I was Alexa I would not even try to save your son because you have killed a lot of people just because they are trying to get back at you by killing your son, you are so ungrateful " Alex said annoyed.

" Alex let us go we are leaving castle rock, they do not deserve any compassion. " Alexa said pulling her brother away from king Derek before he would do something stupid. After the duel ended, king Damian and his children didn't wait they journeyed home with their knights. At dawn, they arrived at their kingdom . Nottingham was a country full of peace joy and happiness. Subject were treated well and also express their opinion but Alexa was still worried about Eric's safety.
