After the tournament, they all departed to their various kingdoms but Alexa refused to leave yet because she saw a vision of prince Eric dying. When her father and brother were going, she asked them to take Lily along with them. Even after being pressurized Alexa still didn't say the real reason why she asked for Lily as her price.
The left by dawn and headed back home. Alexa urged Alex to protect lily at any cost because she was important. After seeing them off, Alexa turned and headed back to her room, that was when she was grabbed by Daniel and shoved into a corner where they couldn't be seen.
" What do you what ? " Alexa asked.
" Just wanted to say hello " He replied smiling.
" What's so funny do I look like a clown ? " she asked furiously.
" I'm so sorry I just wanted to talk to you, but you know that I can't because you're a princess and I never did guess that before handing my heart to you." He replied.
" oh! I see" Alexa said, she was so happy that he felt the same way that she did but she concealed this feelings of hers and pretended not to care.
" I've been in love with you ever since the first day we met "Daniel said.
" okay but I'm taken already but do have a lovely day. " she replied him and left his presence heading to her room, after locking it she smiled as she laid on her bed. But she had a more important business to take care of, she had been assigned to protect Eric although it was a difficult task but she couldn't refuse queen Andrea.
Meanwhile Richard also had a dream about Eric dying but he didn't have an idea on how to stop it so he decided to stick close to Eric through out the whole day and ensure that he is safe.
Alexa on the other hand knew that she couldn't use her powers but she had to do something right in order to safe Eric's life. They were having lunch in the banquet room when a knight appeared after outsmarting the king's best knight. The knight threw a gaulet on the floor as a sign to ask for duel, just as Eric was about to pick it, Alexa hurriedly took it, this made the knight angry, the knight then revealed her face, they were all stunned that a girl could be swift and fast. King Derek was just glad that it wasn't Eric that picked the gaulet because there was no way to stop the fight if he had accepted the challenge.
Richard felt something fishy because he sense a kind of strange aura ever since he met Alexa but he couldn't place it, at first he thought it was magic but he watched her and she was absolutely normal like ever princess but the only thing that he loves about her was that she was friendly and not a spoilt pompous brat like Eric.
The competition was a fight to the death, King Derek was scared because if anything happens to Alexa, he father wouldn't take it lightly with him.
" We can find someone else to replace you " king Derek suggested.
" I'm so sorry I'm not a coward, I picked it and I must fight . " Alexa said.
" just be careful " King Derek said " your father will kill me if anything happens to you. "
Word got to king Damian that his daughter was about to battle till the death, king Damian left everything and Marched towards castle rock they rode non stop because the duel was scheduled to take place the following day. It was already noon when they got to castle rock and he was extremely furious that he marched straight to king Derek court and demanded an explanation.
" Why would you seek my only daughter's death? " King Damian asked.
" I never asked her to fight, she picked it herself " King Derek answered.
" So you let her knowing fully well that she's all I have of her mother " King Damian said.
" I know that she's exactly like your dead wife, but I'm sure she can take care of herself " king Derek said. " and she was not coerced into it, she did it of her own free will. ". Just as they were arguing, Alexa came just in time to stop them from fighting with themselves.
" father, I choose it, no one did. " Alexa replied.
" you can't I can't lose you just as I lost your mom. " king Damian said shaking.
" you're not going to lose me I'll always be here with you I'm not going anywhere " Alexa said hugging her father with tears. " if I don't fight her, she wants Eric to and she'll kill him, she can't kill me because I'm not the one she wants " she said also reassuring him that she would be fine .
" so you'll sacrifice your life for my son's ? " king Derek asked.
" no I'm doing it because I promised his mother to protect him not because of you, you do not deserve anything good you are just opportune to have all you got . " Alexa said and left the room.
meanwhile Richard had overheard their conversation so he sneaked into Alexa's room to see if he could find anything strange about her, while he was still searching Alexa entered and locked the door on purpose knowing that someone was in her room.
" I know that you are there in the drawer so it is either you come out or I bring you out myself. " Alexa said . Richard was scared being found sneaking around in a princess room would cost him his head on a stake but he had no option but to.
