Leanns POV
I looked up at Henri, knowing my eyes are full of hatred, but still a hint of pain from Lucius.
"What would you be doing all the way out here, my little one?"
"I am not your little one!" I could no longer control my anger. "You stole me from my bed!" Shut up Leann or you'll lose control. "I hate you with everything in me and I want you to die!" I was suddenly fading into the dark.
"Leann!" Lucius? Things just could not get worse. "Henri, what are you doing here?" His face was dark when he finally reached us. So he did not like him either, and I began to wonder why.
"I am looking for the newest witch to bring to my school. She lives just around the corner, and Leann happened to run into me. Literally," Henri said with a smile. I knew that was no ordinary smile. Underneath that kindness what evil, that only I knew about.
"Leann let me help you love," Lucius started to reach for me but I scurried back more. I wanted away from them both. Him and that woman was all I could see when I looked at that face. My gaze switched to Henri, and I scowled more. F*ck men. I shot up and ran, not wanting to stay near them any longer.
I ran to a little park a few blocks away, just being near the grass was making me feel so much better. The few trees that were around hummed to me, filling me with comfort.
"Try again, little witch. He is not so bad. Could be worse." They seemed to be communicating with me, just like they did all those months ago. I could not tell Adelaide, nor Lucius. I did not want to seem crazy, but listening to them made me consider calming down and getting an explanation. They felt like my conscious, my Jiminy Cricket, if you please. I loved Lucius, and I have not felt love since the night I was taken, all those years ago.
"Leann! Darlin' please listen to me. It is not what you think-" he showed up. My heart swelled. He really came for me, but he also left me without an explanation. He was going to give me one, now.
"Then what is it? I have been here for six months falling in love with you, and while you go to work you're seeing her," I said in between sobs.
"Oh baby, no. She is an ex-girlfriend that is just too good at her job. I couldn't fire Maria because she knows the in and outs of my company. She got mad that I had brought you, but I told her if she did not go back in and apologize to her future Luna, it was her *ass. Now come here darlin," he spoke in a soft tone, making me believe every word.
"The truth." "He speaks it." "Mate."
"Did you say you were falling in love with me?" I hoped we would skip that, but I guess not.
"I am falling for you. Do you hear those voices," I asked quizzically.
"No, love. Let's get back to Addie and see if she can help you." He picked me up and carried me all the way back to the car. He really did have eyes just for me. He was really the perfect man, always wearing suits, the accent, the goofy way he would joke with me. Yes, I love him. I love him so much and I'm going to tell him, right now!
"Leann," he spoke first. "Darlin' I have to leave soon for a meetin' with another pack. The rules say you cannot go, so you'll be here with Addie and my Gamma Blake. I want you to know that I really do care about you, so if anythin' were to happen to me while I'm gone, I want you to be happy anywhere."
"Lucius, I want Henri dead." That wasn't I love you?
"Anything for you my love. If you wish it, it will happen," he didn't even bat an eye! Did he just love me that much or was he upset with Henri too?
"You're really okay with this?"
"I've been meaning to handle that *sshole for a while now. So yeah, I'm perfectly fine with it. Why do you want him dead," I knew this would come up. Why did I want Henri dead?
"All he did was take me from my home and loving parents," people would say. He did more than that, and it was time I told my mate. But first,
"Lucius," my mouth was dry.
"Yes my love?"
"I-I love you."
"I love yo-"
We crashed into something. I craned my neck and through blurry eyes I looked up, Henri. That son of a- *darkness*
