"Leann it's time to get up. You need to eat darlin," said Lucius. I opened my eyes and saw him in his boxers laying next to me. I immediately sat up and my face turned red. He was muscular, but not too muscular. His features were noticeable but still subtle, like he was sculpted by Angel's. His hands were callused but soft, and when he touched me with them my body wanted to burst into flames. I was happy to see him, but did I need to see that much of him?
Suddenly, I didn't feel well for some reason. I felt like there was something stuck to my chest, causing me to suffocate slowly. I pushed it out of my head and got up to go eat. I was still in my clothes I came in, ripped blue jeans, and not for style. All of my clothes were very old and just fit. My red flannel shirt was just to my hips and was worn out of the sleeves.
"Oi! Where are you going little one? You need to clean up first. Angelique will not be happy if you step foot in her kitchen lookin' that way," he shouted at me. I flinched, expecting something to fly at me.
"What am I supposed to do," I spoke quickly out of fear. He jumped up, and that made me even more nervous. Was he going to hurt me already?
"Shower, my little one. And I went ahead and got you a nice outfit. You're goin' with me to the office today," he stated like I've never lived anywhere but here. Was he upset I slept in his bed? Could he be mad that I didn't know how to take care of myself? I just don't understand why he's being so nice. I could shower!?
Everything he said yesterday was hitting me, hard. Next thing I knew I was vomiting all over the floor. It felt like the ball in my chest was moving, scraping my throat to get out. I fell to the floor gripping my chest and throat, like I could rip off my skin and it would feel better than this.
"Addie! Get in here now! Help me move her to the hospital," Lucius roared. His eyes were no longer that green brown, but yellow like the sun, and his face was contorted. Whatever was happening to me was messing with my head. The dizziness got to me and I fainted.
I was moved to a white room in another part of the town. Everything was so bright and smelled so clean! I don't remember how I got here, but this very nice woman was shouting things I couldn't understand. She had very long blonde hair, pale skin, and wore a magnificent blue dress. Almost like she was a piece of the sky itself, which made me wonder...was she another witch? If he had a witch, why did he need me? We only learned the basics about other supernatural because we never knew who would purchase us. I guess I was lucky enough to get thrown into the most complicated of them all. Another person enters the room, but at this point I only see blues.
"What's happenin' ta her? She's almost unresponsive Adelaide! Fix it please!" Lucius was so worried about me. Why?
"Its the forest dear. After being stuffed into buildings and the magic being pent up for so long it's hitting her all at once. She needs the trees, the wind, anything from them to help settle it," the witch spoke with such a serious tone.
Adelaide, what a beautiful name. I threw up once more but something was different. I threw up dirt!? I sat up and used all my might to run. I didn't know where I was going, but my body was doing its own thing. I could hear voices, and I followed them. One door after another until the last one led to the forest. With one last burst of energy, I flew by groups of people walking and through the tree's. The voices were so loud, but then went silent. I heard a sound so lovely, my senses halted.
"Hello Leann, welcome to our Forrest. You seem to be a new witch, so please let me help you."
A gust of wind blew on my face, slowly the nausea and pain went away. My hands touched the earth, bringing a sense of peace to my body and mind. I felt a power grow in me, and the trees themselves pulled toward me. Their branches intertwined around me, comforting me, bringing me to tears. I screamed, causing a wave of wind to put the trees back into place. I lie there for what felt like forever, listening to whispers.
"LEANN!"
Lucius was going to be upset with me. I hoped he was not going to punish me too severely.
"I am so sorry Alpha. My body took over and led me here. I feel better now," while explaining the trees began to pull once more. His eyes widened as he began leading me away.
"Leann, it looks like you got your powers. We need to go to Adelaide and get things sorted out okay? Just hold on tight," he shifted into his wolf. He was jet black with red undertones, and eyes yellow as could be. He had a piece of his left ear missing, making him even more perfect somehow. I got on his back, and rode him back to his pack house.
I had a lot of questions for him, his witch, and even Henri. I felt very powerful, which put a smile on my face. My revenge will come sooner than I expected.
