Chapter Five

Lucifer is laying on his bed right now. He is waving his hands in the air while looking straight to the ceiling.

“I want many stars sparkling at me while I’m sleeping,” he mumbled.

He is making some magic on his ceiling to make it look like a night sky that he has seen in the mortal world. Lucifer was so amazed at the dark sky at night in the human world. He even put the moon and the clouds, too. He chuckled as he put some shooting stars, planes, and even the sun when the morning comes. When he feels satisfied with what he has done, he finally goes to sleep.

The hell is covered with fire, ashes, smoke, and color red. No one except the devils who have assigned duties is lucky enough to witness the night and day in the mortal world. So, Lucifer’s action is based on how he wants to see new things other than fire.

Nothing is unusual at the little bakery in the town’s alley. Shaire is still doing her work to make a thousand egg pies and other varieties of bread while her cruel boss is still nagging and ordering her around. She seems so fine like she is now immune to the old woman’s behavior. She even smiles and teases the fat lady.

“You, useless girl. Move faster! We have a lot of customers.” the boss yelled through the small window.

“They can wait, Boss Madam,” Shaire shouted back.

She heard the woman’s mimicking something but it is not that clear to understand. So, she just shrugged her shoulder and continues her job. She was a very dedicated lady. Despite all the bad attitude of her boss and the hardships she needs to face every day, she still keeps on working.

Meanwhile, Lucifer is now awake. But he is still laying in his bed watching the sky and sun that he made on his ceiling. He seems so happy with the outcome. Luci made the clouds and the sun moved just like the actual scene on the mortal world. Then, when midnight came, the moon and stars slowly replaced the day theme.

The Demon King went to his office and decided to finish his work first before he went to the human world. He called Ukobach by shouting out loud. It may look like his voice is for his office only but, it is not.

Ukobach, the hell’s secretary and the inferior demon who maintains the fires of hell are on the other side of the inferno. He is busy fixing the flames and uses his power to make it look like a group of people dancing. He stilled when Luci’s voice boomed calling his name.

He sighed. “Coming!” He shouted back.

Lucifer is patiently waiting at his desk while tapping his fingers until his secretary’s aura filled the room. Suddenly, a guy with red hair appeared at his door. He has no shirt but has red harem pants that match his brownish skin and amber eyes.

“Do I have something to work on?” Luci asked.

Ukobach move his hand in a different direction and a cartwheel that is full of paper works appeared. He pushes it towards his boss’s desk.

“It's time for collecting waste souls and bringing them to space. You need to sign four proposals for the meals.” the secretary answered.

Three rows of papers are now on Lucifer’s desk. He looked to his secretary and motioned him to sit down. Ukobach obeyed and sat on the chair in front of his desk. Luci took the third row of papers that is thinnest.

“I’m the one who suggested Beelzebub about this food. You are going to thank me for doing this.” Luci said.

Ukobach nodded. “Thank you, Lucifer.”

The King signed the four proposals saying that egg pies, hotdogs, and many more are now added to the palace’s menu. After that, he give it back to his secretary and took the second row of papers. It is all about the newly added souls. He needs to show himself to them and discuss the rules and regulations of his kingdom.

“Make this announcement on the seventh day,” Luci said.

He didn’t even bother to browse it before he give it back to Ukoback. Then, he looks at the last row of papers that is the higher one. He pushes it gently towards his secretary and smiled.

“We will conduct this one, next week,” he said.

Ukobach sighed and wave his hand again. The paper works vanished and also the cartwheel. The secretary stood up and walked back to the door.

“I assume that we’re all settled. I will go now, Lucifer.” Ukobach concluded.

Luci nodded. “Yes. Thank you for your time.”

His secretary didn’t even bother to reply before he disappeared. Lucifer shook his head and stood up. He straightens his black coat and fixes his hair. When he feels satisfied, he smiled and vanished.

Shairelyn is comfortably sitting on the wooden chair. She is now finished making hundreds of egg pies and bread. Today is not that hectic because it's now back to normal days. She doesn't need to force herself to work. All she needs to do is make a hundred and that’s it. She can now lay and sit without worrying about her cruel boss.

Lucifer appeared at the top of the building. He looked up in the sky and smiled as he saw the sky, the clouds, and the sun. He seems proud that his masterpiece on his ceiling is the same as what he is seeing now. Then, he jumped off the building and landed well with his feet on the ground.

“That was flawless,” he mumbled. Praising his little stunt.

He walked on the sidewalk while enjoying the warm and peaceful atmosphere. Luci was snapping and waving his hand nonstopped to mess up with all of the people he saw while he is walking. Some are accidentally slipped, bumped into a post, caught by the police for jaywalking, barked by a dog, and fall under a manhole. Lucifer is happy that he cant put away his smile. But not until he stopped in the same tiny shop. He is fighting against his eagerness to go in and take some egg pies.

“What the hell?” he grunted.

He cants no longer walk as soon as he saw the girl. She is wearing simple black pants and a blue blouse. Her hair is in a messy bun and she is cleaning the tables outside the shop. Lucifer is frowning as he keeps on figuring out why and what is he doing here again. He sighed when he can't find answers in his head. So, he wave his hand and a strong wind occurred that made the two tables turn and stumble. Shaire was shocked by the sudden commotion that it took her a minute to recover. The girl arrange the tables and smiled after she successfully made it.

“What the f*ck is wrong with her?” Luci groaned.

The King is frowning while looking at the lady. Unfortunately, a delivery truck was coming down the street. Lucifer smirked as he snapped his finger. Suddenly, the truck loses its focus and started to move sideways. Shaire was still busy fixing the tables that she doesn't even notice the truck. But, the driver beeps its horn continuously that making the girl alert. Shaire run away before the truck hit the tiny shop.

The accident spread like a wildfire that brought the people around the scene. The police are now doing their job and currently interviewing the cruel owner. The fat lady is inside the shop when it happened. Luckily, the truck doesn't go further.

“He will pay the damage done by his carelessness, officer! This is my only hope. I have a family and this is our only source of income.” the cruel lady yelled.

“We will make sure that Mr. Delona will pay everything, Ma’am.” the bald officer answered.

“He must give me extra money for the inconvenient!”

As the fat lady is yelling nonstop, Shaire was silently sitting on the chair. She still seems a little bit shocked. Her hands are slightly shaking and her eyes are in the bridge of crying.

“Shairelyn! Shaire!”

“Where’s our sister?”

Hearing those familiar voices makes her stand up and run towards the two guys who are yelling at the police. As soon as the brothers saw her, they pulled her into a hug.

“What happened? Are you okay?” Sian asked worriedly.

“Are you hurt? We will take you to the hospital.” Seth added.

Shaire shook her head. “I- I am fine. I run away before the truck hit me.”

Seth exhaled. “Thank goodness. Mom is worried about you. She is hysterically sulking in her room.”

“Come on. Let's go home.” Sian demanded.

“B- But the police…” Shaire stammered.

“I will talk to them. You, two can go home.” Sian dictated.

Seth holds his sister as they walked away. Sian bragged in the police conversation and seriously talked about his sister. He even told them about the cruel boss’s attitude. He exposed her bad deeds and habits towards his sister that made the fat lady burst into anger. The police argued and Sian asked them to pay and give her sister’s remaining money.

Lucifer followed the innocent girl and her brother in their house. The demon king was so curious about her so, he decided to stalk them. That is one of the advantages of being invisible.

“Ohh, goodness! Thank GOD you’re okay.”

Shaire’s mom hurriedly walked towards them and engulfed the girl into a hug. The woman may be a drunken addict but she is still a mother. She loves her children so much. They motioned the poor lady in the living room. Shaire sat on the couch and her brother gives her a drink.

“You will never go back to that shop again!” her mother shouted.

“Me and Sian will be having double or triple work just to gain more money. Please, little sister, stay here and enjoy your life in a simple way.” Seth fretted.

The door sprung open. “Seth is right. Don’t you ever go back in that fat lady again! Luckily, the police will help us to get your remaining money in that scumbag woman.”

Lucifer, who is seeing all of this was so amazed by the family’s commotion. He is now witnessing how humans value their loved ones that no one, like him, can understand. He is frowning and trying to figure things out by watching them.

“Humans,” Luci mumbled.

“Mommy will try to look for a job. I- I am so lost that I don’t even realize that I still have the three of you. So, Mommy will change for the better.” the woman said.

Shaire hugged her. “Ohh, Mom. We love you so much.”

“You don’t need to do that, Mom,” Seth said.

The four come into a group hug. While the king is just watching them intently in the dark corner of the room. He can't understand anything about the family. Their closeness, behavior, and different mindsets are all weird to him.

Lucifer is standing beside the door when Shairelyn walks out of her bathroom naked. The devil’s eye grew wide in shock and his heart skip a bit. He is now seeing a human girl without any clothes and this is new to him. It is his first time seeing a naked mortal girl.

Without any hesitation, Shaire walks freely around her room naked. She is used to this habit because she has a private bathroom and no one will dare to open or go inside her room without her permission. Unfortunately, the demon king witness it all.

“What the f*cking f*ck?!” Lucifer yelled.

His face is flushed and he can't deny the fact that he is enjoying himself. Lucifer can't take away his eyes from the girl’s body. She is sexy but skinny. Her skin is flawless and creamy that he wished to touch. She has a perfect pair of boobs and ass too. But before Lucifer loses his temper, he forces himself to disappear.
