“So there’s a dead city in the forest back there?” asked Lochlann in a whisper. Arvi and Elen were finishing distributing spell packets and maps alone, since when Talfryn had come out of the woods looking pensive both Akton and Lochlann had gone to him.
“More of a village or town. It’s completely reclaimed by the trees.” Talfryn sighed, shook his head. “Every time I hear more about what we’ve lost over the years…”
“Yeah,” said Akton. They’d learned months ago that Emylnor had once been much friendlier to shifters than it currently was, and although the conflict with Basil had prompted some people to become more trusting, most places still shunned shifters. To think that it got that way because of Reynox’s f****d up influence…
