Chapter 19: Talfryn Morning came too soon. Talfryn woke pleasantly sore and not completely refreshed in a tangle of limbs and blankets, dawn light casting a dim glow in the room. There was pounding at the door, his senses telling him Wren, Arvi, and Whitney were in the corridor, and he groaned. “What?” asked Akton. Talfryn smiled at his confusion, Lochlann blinking awake. They’d had fun twice more last night, which meant of course they hadn’t slept much, but it seemed worth it. And whatever Talfryn hadn’t been allowing himself to fear, inviting Lochlann in only seemed to increase everyone’s happiness. Talfryn wanted to drag them all back to Teorg, forget about this ridiculous quest to kill the Dragon Lord, ignore Wren completely, and pretend he’d never heard about where he’d come from.
