For a moment, I was lost in my thoughts. My mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, but my lips were shut, and my eyes were closed. I made it look like I was asleep while sitting on the couch.
How could her father do such a thing to her? I thought fathers were supposed to protect their children. Why would her own father throw her into the den of lions? I might not have a father, but Leonard was a father figure to me and I can tell how much he could do to protect both Charity and I.
