Tan and Reynolds awaited them in the vestibule at the top of the tower. Tan’s expression was impassive, his usual unflappable self, but Reynolds’ gray hair tufted out on one side, as if the werewolf had rubbed his hand through it. Victory caught the dark look Reynolds shot at Rob and Guy, where they congratulated everyone on a job well done. She mouthed a “sorry” to him and emoted as much contrition as possible, hunching her shoulders and ducking her head werewolf-style. While Mikelos had spent much time socializing with Rob and Guy the past five days, Tan following along behind, Victory had spent it with Reynolds and found a fellow cynical soul in the man.
