Lila's POV Pain. That was the first thing that registered when I gained full consciousness. A deep, throbbing ache along my left side, gravel biting into my palms where I'd instinctively thrown them out to break my fall. I lay there for what felt like an eternity, staring up at a sky smeared orange from the streetlights, waiting for my body to tell me exactly how broken it was. It didn't. Not really. My ribs screamed when I breathed too deep, my knee was scraped raw through the tear in my leggings, and my helmet had a fresh crack running along the side that probably saved my skull from matching it. But I could move my fingers. I could move my toes. I could, by some miracle I wasn't ready to thank God for just yet, push myself up onto shaking arms and see that my bike lay a few feet away,
