CHAPTER 2

1030 Words
Alejandro I stayed back a little to work on something, considering the people that have to be killed and then I realised we've been missing something, a very key factor considering the assignment before me.  And then I realised we've been missing out on something crucial considering how long executing the project has been. I picked up my phone about to ring Axel, when I realised it was quite late and he may have been sleeping though I had my doubts. "Hey, why you calling me at this time, dumbo?" "Because I just found out something very important related to the 'Los Santos' crew." "What is it?" "Well you know how...."                                                                                                ...................... NEXT DAY Lucia  12:15PM We were currently on our way to a TED talk program organised by the Lorenzo's Company but I had to drop Isabella and her mom off at the house, after she said she had some things to attend to at home. On my way to the TED talk program centre, I bought some food and a Mocha Frappuccino Starbuck drink; because I was really hungry- having only had toast for breakfast. I haven't even had the opportunity to go and get food because Ive had a lot of things to attend to at the society program. I thought of actually applying to work  as a full staff  rather than a volunteer at this point, considering how much experience I've gained overtime.  12:40PM I arrived at the centre in due time. Parking the car, I breathe through my nose and out of my lips as I got out and the doors closed. The centre really was beautiful; a sleek white glass building with an in-built auditorium. Beside the centre was a recovery home, perfect for after-TED talk sessions and rehabilitation.  The environment was cool and calm- perfect greenery lining the building outside. As I got in, a blast of fresh, cool air encompassed the air around me. The centre was crackling with activity and young people and it was refreshing. I greeted the receptionist, Adele with a warm smile. I showed her my Lorenzo Volunteer ID card and she nodded, typing my name down on the large iMac that was perched on a marbled desk with velvety sides.  The sound of the coffee machine beside her was a soothing sound, accompanied by the recreational music from the centre's speakers. I walked down the familiar hall and turned to the right, greeting people milling in and opening the doors silently, nodding to the ushers. ''Ms Lucia, so lovely to see you!''  ''You know I wouldn't miss a TED.'' I replied, equally as polite. The auditorium was, as usual, lovely. Brimming with people as always, a sea of heads filled my line of vision, eager to drink up the words of intelligence from guest speakers.  Red seats circled the centre stage, a water bottle situated at the foot of every one, tablets and earpieces for language translations and little snack bag. My favourite part of the TED meetings, after the talk of course. I was directed to and went up to the very back row which had only one seat left- which, to my luck, was at the back. After getting my seat, there was chatter from around the room as music played.  Suddenly the lights dimmed and respectful applause rang out through the hall as host and famous speaker, Apollo Verigas stepped on stage. His slim figure looked immaculate in a blue button-down shirt, white pants and black penny loafers. I liked the fact that Apollo was a simple man when it came to dressing, considering the tales I'd heard of his ever maximising bank account. "Good day, everyone! Lovely to have you here- welcome to our long awaited, annual Lorenzo's TED!'' A roar of applause filled the air as Mr Verigas grinned in approval. A cooperating crowd meant a successful talk.  I drowned out his next words as I immediately thought about something. I had never met Mr Lorenzo, if he did exist, that was. Would he be a cold- calculating person? Or fluffy and nice? I decided on the notion that he would be a kind, old and rich Spanish man with a huge tummy and a lot of kids with a wife called Anne. Yes, that was it, my imagination only went so far. Lorenzo's was run by Avery Mendiola, chairman of the company. She was a sober women, seldom speaking and often critical- but had a very good heart. Avery had been working there for 23 years, it basically being her whole passion. I was so lost in thought that I didn't notice people had started to clap again, and the lights dimmed once more.  Turning my head to the lad beside, I asked her what had happened. I. almost. peed. my. pants. Marcus Brubaker?! All-time TED talk love and heartthrob??  I can't imagine what will happen to me if I see him, how am I supposed to react? I crossed my arms over my lap and tried to still my frazzling nerves. I AM FREAKING OUT!  If I have the opportunity to meet him later, should I tell him I'm a fan? No, that'll be weird. No, it won't. I'll be okay, I think. After a while of his introduction, he was finally called to the stage and damn! He is mighty fine. God really takes his time on some. He had a blue three piece on with a white long-sleeved shirt. His suit buttons were undone and to top it off he had on nice white Prada sneakers. Grinning as the screams from the girls increased, Marcus Brubaker knew he was blessed with looks. He looked beautiful. I can't even believe I'm Simping  over a married man, way outta line, but you can't exactly blame me the man is really Hot. Self-discovery is tough as shit.'... he started. He spoke about how he became a business man and the hurdles he had to jump, things he had to lose in order to get to where he was. The lights flashed into his eyes and they glowed in the dimmed auditorium. As he spoke, the only thing going through my mind.
