Chapter Seven

"What am I going to do Stacey? Stacey?"
Stacey was still in bewilderment about the whole secret. I knew that sooner or later I would tell her about my affair with Kaiden Kross, but I didn't think it would be the very night I tried to avoid it. She literally became sober when she heard it.
"You are sleeping with your boss, THE Kaiden Kross?", Stacey screamed.
"Is that the main issue right now?" I snapped.
She heave a sigh. "Hope he doesn't treat you badly?"
"He doesn't have a heart of a living being and you know it"
"It is a true. What I saw in yesterday's meeting was more than what they say online", Stacey said.
Here were are, two young ladies in the middle of the night thinking about what to do just because Kaiden Kross decided to do something without seeking for my permission like he always does.
"How could make such a mistake? Go to his house, you are his wife, are you not? Mrs Trisha Kross" Stacey said smiling from ear to ear.
"I actually thought you would help me"
"I mean, what do you want me to do?"
"You know I can't stay with him, what if he goes mad and beat me up? Don't you care about me?" I said giving Stacey the googly eyes.
"Fine you can stay with me while you sort things out with Kaiden ok. But right now, what will you wear to work today?"
"I haven't thought of that but....", I said heading to her closet because I know you have cute and sexy outfits.
"...you have actually forgotten that I am not your size. You are more skinny than I am. I mean not skinny but...you know what I mean right?" She said trying to look for a perfect fit for me.
Unfortunately for me, all her clothes are loosed on me and I have to use pins to hold some ends.
I finally found the dress I like, but like I said, I will need pins. Good thing Stacey has them. We worked something out with the dress and it became better. People at work will still know that it is not my dress.
"I will help you with some cash so we can get a few dresses for you while you figure out how to get your stuff back and leave me house. Let's get some sleep for now" Stacey said as she chuckled.

"Mrs Trisha, did you come to mock us today at the board meeting with this outfit?" Mrs Evans said. Her nose widened in disgust and the corners of her lips curved in disappointment.
"Is there a board meeting? Today?" Stacey and I were left in shock. Everyone in the department turned to our direction.
We looked down in shame because it gripped us.
"I don't know what you young ladies were doing all through the night but an email was sent to everyone in each department, and you were picked by the CEO to represent our department", Mrs. Evans yelled more loudly this time seeing that the whole eyes are on us.
She has always looked for a day to disgrace us and today was an opportunity, so she grabbed it tight.
"Why are you still standing there, the meeting is in 30 minutes." She yelled at me and I startled out of the shame I felt at that moment.
"Can you give me a heads-up about the meeting at least Mrs Evans, please", I said more calmly trying to control my anger. Trying to control the fact that I am not getting paid for the shout she is giving me this morning.
"Check your email", she yelled again.
Sometimes I feel that Mrs Evans was forced to work here because she is not always happy, not with me or Stacey, not with anyone else.
With the help of Stacey, I quickly check my email to prepare for the meeting. I was so tensed because Kaiden is the head of the meeting and other department representatives with be there, plus my outfit is not a 'meeting' outfit.
Time was ticking faster than I had expected and I wasn't ready.
"Pin this side as well", I said as Stacey tried to adjust the pins or even add more if possible since she carried back up.
"You look.... Okay, I guess", Stacey said.
I just hope the pins don't poke me.
It was time for the meeting and I tried to adjust my clothes a bit more, I tried to stay cool and get my act together. I also went very early so that I would sit before everyone else, knowing fully well that I will not have any need to stand or speak since my department is not always likely to speak in a meeting like this except asked to.
At the meeting I realized that all the departments were represented by their HODs except mine. This is all Kaiden's doing. Can't look for a better day to frustrate me. I could feel the tension in the room.
"The CEO will not be joining us today as promised. He has a meeting at Italy to attend, hence he won't be coming today", the Chief of Staff said.
Whispers swept across the room and all the HODs were very relieved. Immediately the tension was lifted from the room.
"Let's begin the meeting. Marketing department take the floor", the COS said.
Departments were called on one after the other and every was going smoothly, and I was hundred percent sure that my department will be skipping.
Until I heard a gasp across the room and I looked up from my document to see Kaiden Kross. The tension returned once again to the room. Both the departments that had presented and the ones that didn't started having cold feet.
What is Kaiden Kross doing here? I thought he was in Italy?
