Erik looks like someone who hasn't slept right in seven months.
He's sitting across from Kael's desk, and he's young, maybe twenty-two. He has this weird, raw look to him like he's been chewing on the inside of his cheek for a long time. His hands keep moving and picking at a loose thread on his sleeve, tapping his knee, like his body can't stay still even if his face is trying to.
"Thanks for coming in," Kael says.
"You said you had information about Lily," Erik says, not looking up at Kael. He's looking at the door like he's already planning his exit. Why the f**k is he so paranoid?
"So let's just do this." He finishes, clearing his throat.
