Rose’s POV
“You are looking beautiful.” Diana smiled at me.
“I’m afraid. This is the first time I’m attending these types of events.”
“Just make sure that you won't leave Michael’s side at any cost.” Karen commented.
I heard a knock on the door, and Diana walked to open the door.
“Wow, look who’s here.” Diana moved to the side, revealing Michael standing in a black woolen military-style jacket and black pants. His shirt matched with the armband of the jacket-red.
Just as I look up, my eyes widened at the sight of him. Both of his black eyes were traveling all over my body, from head to toe. The heat in his gaze is undeniable, and as his eyes looked up to meet mine, everything stops. Somehow, we’re in a world of our own with no people surrounding us.
I can’t believe I’m saying but…God damn.
I could feel the sudden hitch of my breaths, the shakiness of my hands, and the speechlessness at the sight of him. My eyes couldn’t look away from him, who appears to be breathtakingly handsome, causing tears in my eyes.
Everything about him shows an infinite amount of perfection. From head to toe. He’s the definition of handsome. There’s not a single flaw showing through, and even if there’s, he’ll be able to conceal it just by the way he looks. How can I keep myself from falling for this man?
“God!” I breathe out as I hold back the tears from forming again.
All I can think of at the moment is, what’s happening to me? Why am I so attracted to him? Is it the way he looks? The way he smiles? Maybe, it’s his eyes. There’s something about him that makes me forget about the world. Just from the sight of him, I am completely blinded by the fact that there are two more people in this room.
He starts moving towards me, not even acknowledging the presence of Diana and Karen. I looked around to find the room empty. Which means they might’ve gone outside to give us some privacy. Before my mind could register the fact that I’m alone with my husband, who is looking hot as hell, his hands come to rest on my waist.
“The queen of my heart.” He said, both of his eyes piercing into mine without a single blink interrupting his stare, which causes me to seek any sign of escapism but to find none. Both of his black eyes are confusing me with the words he said, leaving me to feel my heart beating faster than usual as I try to control my breath.
Is it normal to feel my heart beating when he’s close to me? When it explodes as soon as his eyes meet mine, then his lips curving into a smile as soon as he sees me staring back at him. How can all of it happen at once, even though all of the gestures were normal? He starts leaning towards me, and my mind went blank for a second.
He kissed me on my cheek before running his nose up and down my jaw. His eyes look down at my lips, and my eyes automatically traveled to his. If I’m not holding myself back, I would’ve closed the distance between us and cup onto his face just to meet his lips, knowing how they would feel against mine.
“Ready?” He asked, taking a step away from me.
I nodded my head, unable to find my voice. My body starts to feel at ease at the amount of oxygen I’m inhaling. This shouldn't be the way I react when I see him. Why does it feel as if my heart is going to thump out of my chest? There shouldn’t be any reaction at all. I should not feel anything for him. Why doesn’t my heart accept this simple fact?
We walked out of the room hand in hand. Diana and Karen were in the living room talking to each other. We walked towards them, causing them to look at us. They looked surprised for a moment before a huge smile broke on their faces.
“You both look perfect together. A match made in heaven.” Karen complimented before whispering something to Michael.
“Be careful. Many ladies are gonna be bitches to you just because you're Michael’s date.” Diana said to me before turning to Michael and saying “Don’t leave her alone. Even for a minute.”
“I’ll never leave her side.” Michael looked into my eyes while saying those words, causing me to think of the other meaning of those words.
“Okay love birds, now stop eye-f*****g each other and go.” Karen laughed out.
I sat in the car while Michael opened the door for me. The ride was quiet as both of us seemed to be deep in thought about something.
[after one hour drive]
Michael placed his hands on mine, and it's only then I realized that my hands were shaking.
“I’m here with you. Just hold my hand and smile at the cameras. That’s all. You don’t even need to respond to their questions. Don’t worry.” Michael entwined our hands, and the car came to a stop. Many journalists are standing on either side of the red carpet with their cameras flashing towards our car. I clutched onto Michael’s hand, seeing those many cameras.
He immediately cupped my face before pressing his lips to mine. I was caught off guard, and the kiss was soothing and calming my nerves. He moved back a little before pecking on my lips for one last time.
“You look gorgeous. Just don’t take away the entire limelight.” He joked.
A smile formed on my face listening to his words. His hands went to push a few strands of hair away from my face before his lips pressed on my forehead.
“That’s it. This is all you have to do. Just smile and don’t let go of my hand.”
“Never.” I took his hand in mine, smiling back at him. The driver opened the car door and Michael stepped out of the car. He held his hand out for me. Taking a deep breath, I calmed my nerves before placing my hand in his and got out of the car.
I took a moment to adjust my eyes to the lights of the camera.
“Ready baby?” Michael smiled at me. I held onto his arm and smiled back at him. The cameras started to flash in our direction, and I smiled at them. Once we reached the door, a few journalists asked Michael who I was and also about his upcoming tour to which he said they’ll be knowing answers to all those questions by the end of the ceremony.
I didn’t know what he meant by that. Is he announcing something today? Or did he just say that to get away from those journalists?
Is this man confusing? Hell, that would be an understatement.
