POV: Reece
"Did Reece take you up on your offer?"
Dean left my office a few minutes ago. I leave my office with the intention to find Joseph. Instead, however, I walk to the other end of the hallway because I hear Father's question.
I stare at Father's office door, which is slightly ajar. Finally, I walk closer to the door and listen.
"Don't sugarcoat sh*t, Dean," Father says, "It was your idea."
Dean laughs. "Like buying a kitten will make her want to stay at home. Canyon, we parents must let go sometimes."
There's a pause.
"She can leave my home," Father says, "I'm actually resigned to that fact. However..."
"However?" Dean inquires.
"Did she show you the new hires?" Then, father pauses, "there's one named Joseph that I want you to look at--I've got this feeling about him."
