Father and Joseph stare at me. Seconds have passed since Joseph asked me to call Eddie.
I can't move. I'm too afraid of what will happen after I leave.
However, Father looks impatient.
Joseph's "poker face" makes me more fearful.
I'm not thinking about losing my opportunity at freedom. But, what will happen to Joseph? If Father kills him, it will be my fault--especially if Alex told him the truth.
