POV: Alex I watch Joseph leave the den until Daddy comes into my line of vision. My mind is blank. However, the conversation between Joseph and Daddy replays in my mind. When Daddy opens the door, I snap out of it. "You're going?" I ask. Daddy glances back at me as if I'm a stranger. I rush to him, blocking his exit. "Daddy, look at the pictures. He's a cop working with the FBI. Dean's right, it's a trap." Daddy steps back and looks down at me. He still looks at me as if I'm a stranger. "I don't want to lose my daughter. She's the only reminder I have of my wife." This is going too far. I'm tired of the lies about Daddy not being my father. Hell, even he's starting to believe it. I remember Mom, and she didn't cheat on Daddy. On the contrary, she was a great woman--gentle and kind.
