Chapter 3 - Setting the Trap Aarav gathered the officers in the main hall. His voice echoed with calm authority. "We have recovered the missing file. It's at the forensics lab, and fingerprints will be analyzed tonight." Every face remained still. But Aarav wasn't watching their expressions-he was watching their eyes. He needed the thief to panic. The truth was, the file hadn't been found at all. This was a carefully planted trap. That night, Aarav and Rina hid inside a darkened office overlooking the evidence room. Only a small red light from the security panel blinked in the silence. At exactly 11:43 PM, a shadowy figure entered the corridor The person moved slowly, making sure to avoid the cameras-except Aarav had disabled them earlier himself. The figure wore gloves and a black mask, but something gave them away. A slight limp. Rina whispered, "Sir... only Gokhale walks like that." Aarav nodded grimly. The Commissioner. The highest-ranking officer in the building. The man the entire bureau trusted. [Chapter 4] - Cracks in Loyalty The next morning, Commissioner Gokhale entered the office with his usual stern look. Aarav watched him closely. "Commissioner," Aarav said casually, "We found the fingerprints on File 47B ." For the first time, Aarav saw fear in the Commissioner's eyes. It flickered only for a second-but Aarav caught it. He signaled two officers. "Please accompany the Commissioner to interrogation." Gokhale stiffened. "Aarav, what is the meaning of this?" Rina stepped forward. "Sir, you were seen last night near the evidence room." Gokhale tried to laugh it off. "Ridiculous. You must have mistaken someone else."But when shown the camera footage, the commissioner fell silent. Aarav leaned forward. "Why did you take the file?" The room was painfully quiet. Finally, Gokhale spoke, his voice cold and resigned. "You think the world runs on honesty, Aarav? Power is the real currency. Devraj Mehta offered me more influence than this uniform ever could." Rina stared in disbelief. "So you sold out the entire department?" Gokhale didn't deny it. He revealed that he had been quietly assisting Mehta's operations for years. When Aarav's investigation came too close, Mehta demanded the file be destroyed. And the silver wrapper?" Aarav asked. A smirk appeared on Gokhale's face. "A simple trick. Joshi is innocent, but framing him would keep you distracted." Aarav clenched his fists. "You miscalculated. I trust my team."
