JILIAN'S POV: Sir Dean has been acting really weird lately. And now he gave me flowers. What is he up to this time? “So, are you saying yes to me now?” Dean asked. Wait, what does he mean by that? Saying yes? “Huh? Sir?” I asked. “Are you saying yes to me?” “Sir, are you actually courting me? Aaaaaah! So that’s why you’ve been acting so weird lately! You’re courting me! Hahaha. Um, Sir… how do I say this? I just broke up recently, so I’m still having a hard time adjusting,” I said. “So you’re rejecting me? Is that it?” Dean asked. “Sir, it’s not exactly like that, but… I guess it kind of is. Hehe.” “After I cooked for you? You’re the only person I’ve ever cooked for in my entire life, and you’re going to reject me? Wow. You really disappointed me, Jilian,” Dean said. Oh no. What am I supposed to do? What can I say so he won’t get angry with me? What if he fires me? “Um, Sir, we… wait. I… I do like you, Sir. I’m just not ready for a relationship yet.” He walked closer to me. “Okay. I’ll wait. Until you’re ready, and you’ve completely moved on,” Dean said. Whew! I got out of that one. I was so nervous! DEAN'S POV: She rejected me. I couldn't accept that. Good thing she took it back. So technically, she’s already my girlfriend, right? She said that once she was ready, I would automatically become her boyfriend. Hahaha. I knew she wouldn’t be able to resist my good looks. Suddenly, my phone rang. It was my investigator calling, so I immediately answered. “Hello?” “Sir, apparently, the child was sent to an orphanage. So I’ll just find that orphanage and look for him there.” “Okay.” I’m getting closer to finding him. “Good morning, Sir,” Mandy greeted me. “Where’s Jilian?” I asked. “Um, Sir, she’s already at the construction site. She went there early because she wanted to join your meeting later.” “Really? Okay.” I might as well go there too. I haven’t visited the site yet, so I can also see how much work they’ve accomplished. I wonder what Jilian is doing there. She’s even wearing heels. She must be exhausted from walking around the place. When I arrived… “You have beautiful eyes,” Ken said to her. I knew it. That Ken guy definitely cannot be trusted. “Um, Sir, I’m not joking around with you,” Jilian replied. “Really? Neither am I. So if you’re not joking around, that means you’re serious about me. So… do we need to go on a date?” Ken asked. “Sir? Please focus on your work. I’m leaving now.” “Ahem, ahem. Are you leaving already, Ms. Jilian? Wait for me.” “Sir Dean? You’re here?” Ken asked. “Ah, yes. I’m here. I’ve seen what you’re working on, so we’re leaving now.” So that’s why I’ve had such a bad feeling about Ken. He’s trying to steal Jilian from me. Once we got into my car… “Switch places with Mandy. She’ll be in charge here,” I said. “Why, Sir? It’s better if I stay. Mandy is still new, and she might not be ready to work outside yet.” “Maybe you don’t want to leave because there’s someone you want to see there?” I asked. “Sir, no… Who would that be? Haha.” “Then who could it be?” She stopped laughing when she realized I was serious. “Sir, what happened earlier was just a joke from Sir Ken. He likes joking around, even though sometimes his jokes aren’t funny at all. Sir, I want to be honest with you. If someone ever tries to court me, I’ll tell you, okay? That way, you’ll believe me.” “If you’re really going to be honest with me, then you should have told me about Ken.” “Sir! Um, Sir, hahaha. Sir Ken was only joking, I promise. I know how to keep my word.” Good. I admit it. I’m jealous. JILIAN'S POV: Is Sir Dean really serious about me? Maybe I’ll just end up getting hurt again if I get into another relationship. And besides… Ugh, never mind. No, no, no. Stop thinking about it. It’s strange having him pick me up in the morning and take me home in the afternoon. “Why is your boss so hot, Jilian? Ugh. Hurry up! Don’t keep him waiting. Go outside already,” Ichay said. “Okay, okay! Why are you in such a hurry?” When I stepped outside, I was greeted by a smiling man. The smile actually suits him. He used to either frown or look angry all the time. I’m glad he’s finally gotten used to smiling. Once we got into the car… “Sir, thank you. I really appreciate everything you’ve been doing for me,” I said. “Really? Then why haven’t you said yes to me yet?” Dean asked. I fell silent. Should I really make him wait that long? But I’m still not sure if I’ve completely moved on. I don’t want to hurt someone else’s feelings, so I’m carefully thinking about what I should do. “You don’t have to answer me right away,” Dean said. “Because you’re going to answer me later anyway.” “Huh? Hehe.” “Later?” Does he really wants an answer today? That’s so fast. Well, I guess we’ll see what happens later. “Ms. Jilian, there’s an annoying man outside asking for you.” “Really? Okay, I’ll go see him.” Who could it be? “Ethan? Why are you here? Why are you drunk in the middle of the day?” I asked. “Jilian, babe. Let’s talk,” Ethan said. “Don’t make a scene here. It’s embarrassing. Come on, follow me.” I took him away from the hotel, and we went to a coffee shop. “I made a mistake. I’m sorry. Please take me back,” Ethan pleaded. “After you cheated on me, do you want me back? Do you know how angry I am at you?” I said, furious. I’m such a crybaby when it comes to situations like this, so I couldn’t stop my tears. “Yes, I know I was wrong. But I realized that I really love you. You’re completely different from her, Jilian. I hope we can still fix things. Please.” “First of all, Ethan, you were the one who destroyed our relationship. If you really loved me, you wouldn’t have done something you knew would ruin us.” “Are you really going to throw away the five years we spent together?” Ethan asked. “Wow! You really have some nerve saying that! Ethan, you were the one who cheated, not me. There’s nothing left for us to talk about. This is the last time. I never want to see you again.” I wiped away my tears and left the coffee shop. Then I went straight back to work.
