I had no idea how we managed to get it right, but I found myself in an examination room—although it did take quite some time to get me here. Admittedly, I was still waiting for the doctor to come here, but I felt like it wasn’t the end of the world that we were waiting. At least we weren’t arguing with her in her office anymore, which was already a big upside for me.
“Where the hell is she?”
I felt like it was safe for me to assume that Marcel didn’t not share my appreciation for the progress that we had made this far. His voice explained everything that he was feeling, without putting it into words. He gave me the impression that he was just as ready to attack the doctor as he had been before, when she had been challenging him in the hallway.
