Apollo’s Birthday

Apollo looks around, and walks into the Kitchen. He sees an alarm on his phone charging in the kitchen. “Have fun, it’s your birthday!!” He shrugs, recalling the past few years of his life, were they a dream? On August 30th, 2023 after a global economic collapse, the world was engulfed in nuclear war. The economic collapse was coordinated through a series of events. The first event, occurred in August 15, 2023 was when a man named Alejandro Cortez, introduced a new workforce into the world, an autonomous robot, replacing most jobs that required physical labor, and simple assignments. Major corporations began laying people off, and rioting occurred. The stock markets crashed, and the US dollar collapsed. The US government declared martial law to contain the rioting, and deployed the national guard nationwide. Water was completely empty from every store by August 16, and were never restocked. Stores were destroyed and looted, and burned to the ground, robot workers were destroyed, and law enforcement lacked the manpower to control it. The National Guard could contain the rioting, but the stores suffered irreversible damage. Water became scare, along with food, and valuable resources. The second event occurred August 28 when Pakistan and India went to war. The US deployed it’s new experimental atmospheric disrupter, designed to shut off ICBMs. The device failed, nuclear war erupted on August 29, 3:04 am, 2023. The next morning, the US deployed the fields over their own nation, and as nuclear war ravaged the earth, it protected America for about 12 hours, afterwards Nuclear missiles destroyed every major city in America. The only survivors, did so by finding bunkers, but water was scarce, and clean water was no longer available. The third event, was when a mysterious corporation emerged in Russia, known as “The Order”, claiming to have an endless supply of purified water, and food, stored away, they demanded all to submit to their new reign.
