Sticking to the plan

I was happy that Aura had found a way for us to be together in secret. After getting off the phone with Aura and Eric, I had felt really good about this plan that she had come up with. I was heading to my room when I got a mind link from my father. I was glad it was him and not one of my guy friends. Trying to explain anything to them would have been so much harder than my parents.

“Hey Dad everything okay?” I asked as soon as the link was open.

“Aspen, where have you been? Your mother has been trying to link you for over an hour now but you had us blocked why?” His voice rang out in my head in his alpha tone. I knew my mother must have been worried and took it out on him so he was frustrated with me for it.

“I was out with a friend. Just talking.” I was waiting for Aura to text me the information to Eric's mate so I could use her as the friend.

“Was it a girl? Are you dating someone?” He asked in a voice. My father knew how I felt about mates so he didn’t have to worry about me leading anyone on.

“Yes I was out with a girl from a witch coven.” I told him through the link hoping he wouldn't care. Werewolves and witches had been friends for centuries and had each other's back. We often went to the coven close to us for spells to protect the pack during war. They come to us when they need strength and speed on their side.

“Really what coven is she from?” My Dad linked back sounding very curious about this new female in life. Just as I got my father's link my phone went off. I saw it was a text from Aura. I opened it quickly. I had been waiting for the information of Eric’s mate. When i had gotten it open it read:

I hadn’t noticed I was holding my breath hoping Aura would get the information to me in time. I finally let it out and relaxed just a little bit. I knew the coven right away. I had heard about them in meetings my father made me attend. They possessed the strongest powers in witchcraft.

“Salem Bennett Coven. Her name is Mea Bennett.” I linked my father back with the information.

It only took my father a few seconds to link back. “ Bennett coven is the strongest coven around and Mea is the daughter of the coven's leader. She is the strongest white witch ever to be known. If I am thinking of the right person.” I was kinda shocked my father knew about her and her coven but I shouldn’t be. He is the king of werewolves and has a very good relationship with the witches around us.

“Yes father, you are correct.” I confirmed through the link.

“That is great son keep up the connection with her. We could use them in our circle. I would love to meet her as soon as you are comfortable bringing her to the house.” He ended the link after that. I was glad he bought the information and was actually happy it was a witch. He always thought of things that would help the pack grow and benefit us.

Now I had to get to know Mea and play like I was going out with her. This was definitely going to be hard. I was still getting to know my mate and now I had to get to know another female. I never had any female friends before so this was all new to me. Mea was going to be my first female friend. I was definitely sticking to the plan and there was no backing out now.

I sat on my bed for a minute to think about everything that I had just learned. I couldn’t believe that the strongest witch was mated to one of the strongest vampires. Also the strongest werewolf was also mated to the other strongest vampire. It was like the Moon Goddess way of bringing all the different kinds back together in harmony.

After running everything through my head for several minutes I decided I was going to text her in the morning and see if she wanted to hang out and get to know each other. Then we could meet up with our mates later in the evening. As I put my phone on the charger I started to think back to the video chat I had with Aura. She said she loved me. I really wanted to know if that was really how she felt or it was just by habit. I knew I felt that way but I was not sure if it was too soon to say anything. We had only been together for one day now. I was going to text her in the morning as well and ask her about it.

I got up and made my way to my bathroom to shower before I would jump into bed. I was exhausted from everything today. I was hoping that sleep would come easy after I showered. After I got out of the shower my stomach was growling at me and I remember I hadn't eaten dinner. I got dressed in basketball shorts and a black t-shirt and went down to the kitchen to find something to eat.

I found my mothers leftover chicken linguine and some garlic bread in the fridge. I took it out, threw it on a plate and heated it up. I took a fork out of the cabinet and took the plate out of the microwave and headed up to my room to eat. I would bring down the plate in the morning. I climbed into my bed and flipped the tv on. I flicked through channels until I came to law in order and decided to watch it while I ate. Once I was done eating I put my plate and fork on my bedside table and turned off my tv and lamp. I laid down and knew I was going to sleep well tonight. I quickly drifted off to sleep.
