Library party planning

Aura After getting up from the couch. We made our way to the library. No one ever went into the library. I flopped down on one of the bean bag chairs. Eirc sat in the one in front of me. There was no one in earshot of either of us. “So what is going on with your mother?” Eric asked me once we were comfortable. “She was asking about you and if I had chosen you. Also wants me to make a list for my birthday party.” I replied simply. I didn’t want to show my frustration that I had towards my mother during the conversation. “So let's start on the birthday list. It's a good way for me to get to know what you like.” He replied with a small smile. He was right though it would be perfect to get to know each other. “Okay let's get to it we have Food, Theme, Music.” I said the list my mother had said to me. “Let's start with themes first.” Eric said as he pulled out his phone. “What are some movies you like?” He quickly asked. I thought about it for a second. I really like Johnny Depp and Leonardo Dicaprio. Their movies are amazing to me. Like the top ten movies for me are: 1. Nightmare before Christmas 2. Edward Scissorhands 3. What's eating Gilbert Grape 4. The Tourist 5. Alice in Wonderland 6. Dark Shadows 7. Gatsby 8. Titanic 9. The Wolf of Wall Street 10. Blood Diamond I don't really watch a lot of movies to be honest.” I finished listing my movie but then thought it was really the only movie I ever watched. Okay out of those movies the top three that could be used as a theme are: Nightmare before Christmas, Gatsby, and Alice in Wonderland. What are your favorite colors?” He said with much delight. Like he planned parties all the time. “Green, Pink, and Purple.” I said simply “Okay, think of this as an Alice in Wonderland theme with greens, pinks, and purples. The dance floor could light up those colors. Have trees and flowers that match the colors but are exotic.” He was good at visualizing. “Okay what flowers are you thinking of?” I really didn’t know what flowers he was thinking of. “Bittersweet Nightshade, Hydrangea, Dahlias, Aster, Hibiscus, Hollyhock. They all come in purple, pink, and green.” He showed me a picture of each flower in the different colors. After looking at all the pictures and colors I had decided on purple nightshade, pink hollyhock, and a mix between purple, pink, green hydrangea and green leaf fillers for the table center arrangement. “Okay now let's go to the food portion on the list for the party. Finger foods are best and tea foods would be great.” “I don’t know any Tea party foods.” I replied feeling kinda out of my element. “Well we can look that stuff up and you can look at what looks good to you and write it down.” He replied while opening up google on his phone to search. After searching for a while and going through loads of sites we decided on: savory cream cheese cucumber sandwiches, turkey tea sandwiches with basil mayonnaise, mint - cucumber tomato sandwiches, tuna salad sandwich, steak and cheese mini tea sliders, a cheese platters with different cheeses, tomato and cheese on a stick, meat tray, and crackers, fruit platter, tea cakes and scones. I know you are wondering why a vampire would go through this much for a party. Yes we are vampires and brink blood as the many substances in the diet but we can still enjoy normal food so parties give us something to look forward to. Even though we live a very long life we still try to enjoy the small things in life. I was happy that we were getting everything done on the list. We had one thing left on the list which was music. I knew my choice for music would not get my mother approval for a party. I was into alternative rock, where my mother always had classical music played at all gatherings we hosted. So for the music I would just let her pick so she could be happy. After I finished typing up the text to send to my mother I showed Eric for confirmation “Theme: Alice and wonderland Flower arrangement: purple nightshade, pink hollyhock, and a mix between purple, pink, green hydrangea and green leaf fillers for the table center arrangement. Food: savory cream cheese cucumber sandwiches, turkey tea sandwiches with basil mayonnaise, mint - cucumber tomato sandwiches, tuna salad sandwich, steak and cheese mini tea sliders, a cheese platters with different cheeses, tomato and cheese on a stick, meat tray, and crackers, fruit platter, tea cakes and scones. Music: I would prefer alternative rock but if you want to choose something else that is fine.” Once he agreed that my text had covered everything he pushed send. “So now that we know alot about me, why don’t you tell me something about you Eric?” I asked when he handed back my phone. “Well, to answer the same questions you were asked, I like fast and furious movies, my favorite color is blue, lets see food is hard. I don't eat food very often, if at all even when at parties but cheese cake is amazing, music would be the same as alternative rock. I don’t like to read. I love star gazing. I often wonder what else is out there in the world but we are stuck seeing it in the dark.” I stayed quiet for a little bit because I knew all too well how he felt. “Do you ever feel stuck because we don’t get to live a normal life while everyone is outside enjoying the sunshine and doing a lot of fun activities we can’t do.” I asked because for once in my life I wasn’t scared of being judged for not being a vampire. “Well of course I want to bike, surf, swim, see the fish in the ocean, see a rainbow. I know those seem silly to most vampires because we are bound to the darkness of night but I wouldn't want this if I had a choice. Please don’t tell my father that he would freak out on me.” Eric confessed to me. I knew exactly what he was talking about. My own parents would disown me if they knew the truth of how I felt or if they knew I was mated to a werewolf.
