I couldn’t believe she thought I was going to reject her. I would never do that. In my heart she was everything I had been longing for in my life. I never understood why I didn’t find she wolves attractive until now. Her fangs were perfect.

I wanted to kiss her and claim her right here but I knew I couldn’t do that. This was something that was going to taking time and patience and I was going to be here for the ride.

I knew we would get caught together if we stayed out here too long. Either her friend or someone else would find them and start questioning things and I wasn’t ready for anyone else to know that I was mated to a vampire until she was ready.

I knew she was questioning everything in her head but not her heart. She looked at me with hope and happiness.

Her body was colder than mine and every time I brushed her leg she would get goosebumps from the warmth. One time she giggled. It was the sweetest sound I had ever heard in my life.

I saw head lights turning into the parking lot and looked at my phone screen. It was my friends finally pulling in. I didn’t want to leave her. It hurt my heart to think about it. My wolf was not happy about it either he was whimpering in my head.

I turned to Aura and watched her as she was looking back up at the stars. She really loved the stars. I smiled and rubbed her hands. She looked at me and smiled. “I know this complicated and I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable about being mated to a wolf. I would like to get to know you in private. My parents and my kind may not accept you yet but I will work that out.” I watched as she took in my words before she replied.

“Honestly we should stay a secret until we have everything figured out my parents would flip. I am the next clan leader so I have high expectations that they expect from me.” When that hit me that she was the heiress of her clan and I was hire to mine I realized that it would bring both kinds together for the first time.

Not telling her yet of my birth right. “Can we text each other?” She smiled and nodded excitedly. I handed her my phone so she could enter her number. Her small hands tapped fast over my phone before she handed it back.

She started to stand up which made me sadder because I knew this was going to be good bye. She stood and waited for me to join her.

“Well I guess this is where we separate for the rest of night.” Aura said with a soft smile.

She seemed shy or like she wanted to say more but I didn’t want to push her. I leaned in for a hug. She didn’t pull back away from me like I thought she would. Instead she embraced me and even kissed my cheek as she pulled out of my arms. She jogged across the parking lot and ducked back into the club.

As I went back into the club I put on my straight face so the guys wouldn’t know anything was up. I noticed Castor first sitting at the bar with a beer in hand and chatting up a blonde she wolf. I looked around and found Forest dancing with the girl that Aura had been dancing with earlier.

I hadn’t asked her if the girl she was with was also a vampire. I just assumed it by her reaction to being mated to me I didn’t see her having friends that were wolves. I waved at Forest and made my way through the crowd and started dancing next him.

I noticed Aura standing on the wall watching her friend. As I started dancing she made her way back onto the dance floor. She started dancing in front of me next to her friend. It was sexy watching her. I wanted to be able to touch her and dance with her. I was hard to keep my hands from reaching for her.

About an hour later I was tired and need a drink. I noticed that Aura was talking to her friend about heading back home. The had to be back before anyone got suspicious of were they were or had gone for the night.

I walked over to Castor and side hugged him. He shook my hand off like I was embarrassing him in front of the girl he was working on. I grabbed his beer out of his and took a long swig. I leaned down and said “I am heading home. I’m tired.” He nodded at me and went back to the blonde chick. I knew by the nights end that she would be in his bed. Rolling around in the sheets.

I really wanted to get home fast so I could text her. I wanted to see her again. I needed to. She was my world now and I wanted her in my life forever. It was definitely going to be hard to convince my parents to open their eyes and accept her as my mate and the next queen.

I turned before I headed out the club door to see if Aura had left yet. I couldn’t spot her among the people that were left on the dance floor. She must have left while I was at the bar.

I turned and continued out the door to head to my car. All I could think about was her. Her red hair, green eyes that glowed in darkness, her skin was pink but pale and cold. She was shorter than me by what I thought to be a foot shorter or maybe more. I had to lean down to her face to whisper in her ear.

As I pulled out of the packing lot I sent her a message. “I hope you make it home safely.”

I didn’t wait for her to respond instead I raced home so I could shut myself in my room. I wanted to enjoy talking to her and smile. We still had to hide what we were doing for now.
