My Secret!!

Aura

I had heard my phone ping as Raven and I made the run back up the mountain to get home. We heard wolves howling in the distance as we started. We had to pick up the pace to keep the distance between us and them.

Raven seemed to have noticed that I had received a text but I wasn’t quick to respond. At least not in front of her. As soon as we entered the front door to the castle she turned to me “So who is on your s**t list this week?” She asked with eyebrows raised. I knew what she was talking about. I had to think of a quick answer that she would not continue to pester me about it.

As I took my boots off I quickly realized I could use Angus. He had been asking if he could come out with us tonight all week but every single time it was a no. As I set my boots on the mat to not get mud on the carpet I responded “ Angus he was been bothering me all week I think he as a crush on you. He has been wanting to go out with us.” I rolled my eyes to show that I was annoyed.

Raven shrugged her shoulders and head up the stairs. I walked behind her hoping she didn’t want to come to my room tonight to talk about the club. As we got to her floor with her room I could see she was tired and was grinning on the inside for that.

“Good night Raven. I will see in the morning.” I waved and ran up the rest of the stairs to my room. I shut my door and locked it to make sure no one would just walk in on me. I felt like I was hiding something terrible. Aspen was my secret and no one could take him away. I didn’t know what was going to happen between us but the unknown had this kind of excitement to it.

As I laid down on my bed I pulled my phone out of pocket to see an unknown number had texted me. I smiled the biggest smile of my life knowing it was from him.

“Hope you make it home safely.” Read the text. I quickly saved his number to my phone and replied. “Yes I did thank you I am in bed now. Hope you enjoy the rest of your night.”

I wasn’t expecting a response to my text so I got up to get my pajamas on and to get my makeup washed off. I made it to my closet when “ping” came from my bed. I ran to my bed and jumped across my queen size bed to get to my phone on the other side.

“I decided to go home after you left I just made it home myself.”

A few seconds later a second text came through. “I would love to know more about you if you don’t mind?” I thought about it a minute before responding back to him.

“I don’t mind at all what do you want to know.”

I quickly grabbed my pajamas and ran to my bathroom and shut the door. I took my clothes off and pulled on my silk pajama tank top and silk shorts. I went to my sink and splashed water on my face to get it wet. I quickly washed my face and dried it. Grabbing my dirty clothes off the floor as I exited my bathroom I placed them in my laundry basket. I jumped back into my bed now ready to have a full conversation with Aspen without any interruptions.

I opened my text app and clicked on Aspens name opening the conversation. I started texting “ I am Aura I am 17 soon to be 18 my father and mother are the clan leaders. I am a vampire as you noticed. I enjoy history and stars. But I don’t get to do anything during the day time so I don’t have many options for things I can do. I drink human blood but I have never killed anyone. My parents are training me to take over the clan in the next few years.” I sent the text hoping I wouldn’t scare him away.

Aspen

I was so happy she was actually texting back I didn’t know where to start. I wanted to know everything. How old was she? Was she born a vampire or turned or was that even a thing? I had heard stories but no truth to other species came from these stories. She was a vampire and I could learn from her.

“I am Aura. I am 17 soon to be 18. My father and mother are the clan leaders. I am a vampire as you noticed. I enjoy history and stars. But I don’t get to do anything during the day time so I don’t have many options for things I can do. I drink human blood but I have never killed anyone. My parents are training me to take over the clan in the next few years.” Popped up on my screen as I was trying to figure out what to text back.

I had forgotten that vampires can only come out in the dark. My father called them the children of the night. I knew they were also the Moon Goddess children or I wouldn’t be mated to one.

“I am Aspen I am 22 years old. I have been waiting for my mate since I was 18. My parents are the king and queen of werewolves. I have done a lot thing in life but never really enjoyed it because I always felt like I was missing something important. I know this is probably weird to ask but could a vampire drink a werewolves blood or does it have to be human?” I wanted to know if she could drink my blood cause if she could I wanted her to. I would give her everything she could possibly want in life. For now she was my secret.

“Yes a vampire could drink a wolf’s blood. It supposed to be better than human blood to us. So you will be the next king? How do you feel about taking on that responsibility?” She replied so fast it startled me.

“Yes I will be the next king and I believe I am ready for it I have been trained to take over since I was born but I do want my pack to accept your clan so we can grow together and become one. Also would you try my blood?” I hit send and put my phone down it was almost two in the morning I could barely hold my eyes open any longer. Sleep came and I welcomed it. Aura would be in my dreams tonight.
