Aspen
I woke up feeling amazing that I had a new light to the dark tunnel I was in. I needed to get dressed and text Mea to get this plan under way. I quickly showered and threw on some jeans and a gray t-shirt. Once I was dressed I brushed my hair and teeth and headed down the stairs to the dinning room to eat breakfast. I knew it would be served soon. I just wanted to get my food and eat as quickly as possible.
When I turned the corner to the dinning hall I saw my Forest and my parents sitting at a table talking. They quickly stopped as I came in. I knew whatever they were talking about had something to do with me that they didn’t want me to hear. I was annoyed with Forest for being a part of it. He knew better than anyone and to be on my parents side and not have my back made me question him.
I walked over to the table with all the food laying on it. It was covered with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, pancakes, waffles, french toast, regular toast, fruit salad. I piled two plates full of the food and went to a different table away from my parents. They seemed to notice that I was annoyed.
I sat down and pulled out my phone. I opened up my text app and clicked on Mea’s contact information.
“Hay this is Aspen. Eric hopefully told you about me.” I sent the text and set my phone on the table.
As I started to eat my breakfast Forest and my father came over to my table. I didn’t say anything to either of them when they got to my table. I was not in the mood to hear what they had to say.
“Hey man.” Forest was the first to say anything. I just nodded in reply and kept eating.
“Aspen, son you can’t be like this. Stop being so stubborn all the time and talk to people we love you and care about you.” my father said, trying to sound worried. As soon as I heard him I got even more annoyed and mad.
“YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TALK ABOUT BE STUBBORN OR TALKING TO PEOPLE. WHEN YOU ARE HIDING STUFF FROM ME AND HAVING SECRET CONVERSATIONS ABOUT ME.” I yelled at both of them in my alpha voice so they knew I was pissed off. Forest bowed his head in submission to me. My father was fighting it because he was an alpha but I was stronger than him and he knew not to test me.
I hadn’t even finished my food but I was no longer hungry. I push my chair away from the table, having it crash to the ground hard. I stormed outside. I didn't want to be near anyone right now. I couldn’t believe they had the nerves to talk to me the way they did like I was the problem. I was used to it though my parents always ganged up on me but most of the time it didn’t go in their favor. I was not one for being pushed around by people, not even my parents. I was walking around outside when my phone rang letting me know I had a new text.
“Hello Aspen, Yes Eric told me the plan last night. Would you like to meet up somewhere to talk.” Mea replied.
“Yes, can you come to the pack and we can hang out here before tonight.” I replied back. I knew she would have to portal into the pack lands. I couldn’t go to her and be back in time to see Aura tonight.
“Yes, I will portal in a few minutes. Can you send me a picture of where you are right now so I can open a portal. I have to see where I am going.” I quickly took a few pictures of the surrounding area and sent them to her. I sat down and decided I would wait.
Not even ten minutes later a big white portal opened up in front of me. Blowing strong winds everywhere. I had to duck my head. Out walked a beautiful slender blonde girl. I got up once the portal had closed behind her.
“Wow that was cool. Also HI.” I was very impressed by the portal she had created. “Oh that small thing was nothing to what I can really do.” she said humbly.
“So we are supposed to be getting to know each other.” I sat back down on the grass by a tree. She followed suit.
“Yes, I made a list of questions and topics.'' She pulled out a piece of paper and unfolded it before handing it to me.
I opened and read the questions:
Basic questions
1. How do you spend your free time.
2. What’s your favorite food?
3. Whats your favorite place to eat in the area?
Personal Questions
1. What was your least favorite food as a kid?
2. Do you have a favorite sport?
3. What’s you biggest fear?
4. What’s the last thing that made you cry?
5. Do you have any pet peeves?
6. Do you have a favorite childhood memory?
7. Do you ever feel lonely?
8. What would you like people to remember you for?
9. What is number one on your bucket list?
These questions were really personal and deep questions. I never had to talk about myself before. My friends I had now knew me and knew everything because they were there with me. This was definitely going to be hard but it would be good practice.
Mea looked at me with a smile. “Are you ready to start or are you just going to look at the paper the whole time? I will pick a question and you can answer it.” She finished talking and grabbed the paper from me. I just nodded and waited for her to ask me the first question.
“What is your favorite food?” she asked
“I enjoy pizza the most but also enjoy lasagna. My mother makes the best lasagna in the world. I never miss Wednesday dinner. It is a tradition to have her lasagna.” I said smiling and remembering the first time my mother ever made me try her lasagna. I was five years old and she had been cooking all day. I was being a normal kid and not wanting to eat anything new. So I kept saying it was gross without trying it. My mother sat me on her lap and started to eat her plate of lasagna and salad. I sat there watching and changed my mind and wanted to try what my mother was eating. If she liked it so much it had to be good. I took a bit of my mothers food and swallowed it with the most amazing taste I had ever tasted in my life. I still believe till this day that my mother’s lasagna is the best.
