A Little White Lie

Aura POV This morning as I woke up I was extremely happy. Everything was coming into place so we could keep everything a secret. I wasn’t going to tell my parents until after we had marked each other and it was permanent. I wouldn’t do anything that could separate us forever. I sat up in my bed and stretched out. I stayed under my blankets. I could see the sun rising behind my curtains. I knew I had to get myself up and ready for the day. I was going to hang out with Eric and get to know him better for this plan to work. I got up pushing my blanket off my body. I went to my bathroom to take a nice steamy shower. I wanted to be as relaxed as possible. Before I could start getting undressed I heard a knock on my bedroom door. “Come in.” I yelled. I heard my bedroom door open and click shut. “Sweetie, can we talk for a minute.” My mother said she made her way to sit on my couch in the sitting area of my room. “Just give me a second. I will turn the shower off.” I said through the bathroom door. After turning off the shower I made my way to the chair opposite my mother and sat down. “Your father and I would like to know if you are going to choose Eric.” She asked like it was a major matter. Everything was major to my mother. “Mother I am still getting to know him but I do like his personality.” I said plainly, hoping that would end the conversation. “So are you going to get to know the rest of the sons then.” she asked. I hadn’t thought about that part nor did I want to. I was starting to get frustrated so I got up and started walking around my room. “Mother, why can’t you just be happy that I am trying this your way? When you clearly know that this is not how I wanted to handle things.” I almost yelled at her in frustration. I made my bed. Throwing the pillows on the floor and flipping my blankets back in places. After I put my pillows neatly back on my bed. I went back over to my mother. “You know I have always wanted to find my actual mate. You are not giving me that chance.” I told her flatly. “How do you know they are not your mates?” My mother asked. I couldn’t tell her that I had found my mate and it wasn’t one of the sons she wanted me to pick. “Mom, you don’t want me to pick anyone else other than those few people you picked out for me. I don’t want you to choose my mate. We don’t know who my mate is going to be until my birthday this weekend.” I explained. As I mentioned my birthday my Mother pulled out her phone. “Oh yes we need to go over the details for your party. Food, Theme, Music.” I hated planning anything so I rolled my eyes in response to my mother. “Okay I will make a list of everything I want and send it to you okay.” I knew i wouldn’t get out of it so if i just agreed to do it on my time my mother would let it be. “Just get it to me by tomorrow night okay.” She said getting up from the couch she was sitting on. I walked over to my door with her. “Thank you Mom I love you I will get the list to you tomorrow.” I replied and hugged her. Then I opened my door hoping she would get the hint and leave my room. I was over this conversation. Plus I still needed to take a shower. “I love you too my sweetie. I will be looking for that ist so don’t forget about it. This is a big deal for all of us, not just you.” My Mother said before taking her exit. I looked at my phone and realized I was supposed to meet Eric in 25 minutes in the game room. I had to rush now to get ready. I quickly jumped in the shower not even waiting for the water to get warm. Washed my body. My hair could last another day without a wash. Jumped out wrapped myself in a bath towel and ran to my closest to get dressed. I quickly grabbed a pink blouse, black ripped jeans, and my all black nikes. Once I was dressed I threw my hair up a ponytail and braided it. I ran out my bedroom door and down the stairs to the main floor to get to the game room. As I made my way through the lounge I ran into Raven. “Aura, Oh my god you look so cute. So tell me about Eric. He is so cute. He is definitely the one I would choose.” She was jumping up and down like an excited kid in a candy shop. I knew I had to satisfy her needs or she would keep asking more questions. Raven loved gossip. “He is sweet, kind hearted, gentle but strong. He has muscles most girls dream about. His lips are soft and dreamy.” I said to her while I was picturing Aspen. “You kissed him?” she yelled out in shock and excitement. “Yes, last night before we got back. We actually went out to watch the stars.” I was making this all up as I was going. I hope when she finds out the truth she will forgive me for lying to her. “That's the biggest news yet. I have to go tell the rest of the girls. They are going to be so jealous. I am jealous but its whatever I love you.” SHe said and ran to go find the other girls. I walked in the game room and saw Eric sitting on one of the couches playing on his phone. I walked over and sat next to him. “Hey Aura, busy morning already.” He said with a smile. “You have no idea. First my mother and then my best friend. I am sorry if I kept you waiting long.” I said sincerely. “Okay let's go chat somewhere alone, maybe I can help you out with whatever it may be.” He offered as he stood up and offered me a hand to help me up.
