CHAPTER 5
The week passed by quietly. Mostly they spent their time moping around, trying to watch TV or look for jobs. They cared for Wanda as if their lives depended on it. They tried to cook meals but ended up eating lasagne that they found in the freezer, fried eggs with chips and lots of sandwiches. Aunt Lizzie phoned them, Iris gave them a call, Cassie rang, and they even spoke to their granny from their father’s side. Although everybody’s intentions were good, they ended up causing more heartache.
