Auroras POV
"Hi I'm Chasity Roy, Coltlas tells me that you are his best friend!" She said she sounded like a bath duck being squeezed, I gave her a tight smile, and a strange unfamiliar feeling sprouted in my chest, she came for a hug and I remember squeezing her so tight that she was catching her breath by the time she pulled away.
"Coltlas you didn't tell me that you had a girlfriend..." I said trying to find the right words and then chastity had her arm wrapped around his the smile on her face running from one ear to the other.
"Honestly it's a surprise to me too, I've been sending him love letters for over 7 months now and he has never responded to one of them then while ago he just called me and asked to meet we went on a date and he asked me to be his girlfriend he said he appreciated her determined and straightforward I was and he thought we could be something wonderful isn't that great?"
I genuinely felt sorry for Chastity she had this bubbly naive personality covering her like an unintentional shield.
Even as she held Coltlas's hand he was looking straight at me his gaze fixed on me I could tell what he was trying to do he was trying to gauge my reaction to his relationship with this girl so see what it would do to me.
The poor girl had rebound plastered all over her with the tag of a relationship hanging on the side.
She stayed for a little bit before having to leave by the time she was gone I nudged Coltlas.
"Are you going to say anything or should I be the one to bring it up first?"
He shrugged his shoulders.
"I think we should be learning how to manipulate aura today, "
He was completely ignoring what I was talking about what I wouldn't let him do. He walked to an opening his a building with his fingertips but I came and placed a hand on his wrist.
He stopped and the light of his building aura disappeared in a second he looked at me his eyes strained and his expression sunken a smile was obviously fake just like his supposed feelings for chastity.
"Coltlas talk to me you didn't come for training last week and you were even ignoring me for a while don't think I didn't notice it and you finally show up with a girl I have never seen before saying she's your girlfriend?"
"What were you expecting? Don't you think you're being weird right now? Did you expect me to pine after you for the rest of my life after you already told me no?"
My chest instantly became tight.
"I didn't say no," the words escape me before I think about them, and then all of a sudden he had his hand on my wrist and he pushed me until my back hit a tree
"Don't you dare do this to me Aurora, you don't get to play with me like this..."
I bit my bottom lip then shot back at him immediately.
"Then why are you playing with somebody that doesn't deserve it? She looks so kind and innocent and you are just using her to get back at me,"
He scoffed.
"Man if I fell off your ego I'd end up breaking more than a couple of ribs, just who do you think you are? I am a future head of this coven.. not to mention that my looks give girls the best dream at night and here you are acting like I can't move past you you see me with another girl and you immediately as young that I'm trying to win you over, now isn't that just messed up?"
"Then do you like her?" I asked him.
"She's pretty,"
I gritted my teeth.
"It's not too late to break up with her, just explain that you don't–"
He pushed me further until I could feel the outline of the bark on my back.
"Are you deaf now Aurora? I already told you that this has nothing to do with you, I didn't even like you that much or anything I was just freaking out at the moment but after you rejected me I went to varied pretty quickly in fact I realized that I just got confused because we spent so much time together it was really nothing there,"
I reached up cupping his chiseled jaw with my fingers.
"Coltlas I hate that I'm doing this to you, trust me when I say I don't want you to suffer like this and I hate seeing you in pain but this... I have a secret I can't tell you or anyone and because of that I wouldn't want to lead you on,"
He laughed, but it sounded dry and the smile on his lips did not reach up to his eyes.
"What secret? I know all your secrets," he said with a confidence that began to falter when he saw the serious look on my face.
His expression hardened as well.
"Don't you trust me enough to tell me?"
My hands fell to the side hanging limply by my body.
"I do trust you I mean it I trust you more than anyone else in this place... You've accepted me without any judgment and you're my closest friend but..."
"Not close enough to know the truth huh?"
He came closer enough that I could feel the minty breath brush against my face and tingling the hairs on the back of my neck.
"So what if we became something more than friends?"
I opened my lips to answer that question but instead of getting the chance to do so his lips claimed mine wrapping around naturally and I could not pull away from it as much as I tried I was weak and my legs turned into water my body fell into his and he held me like a pillar and we crossed a boundary we could never come back from.
