Turned out, I didn’t have to wait alone.
Knock, knock, I heard the next morning. “Come in,” I said. “Especially if you have coffee.”
Ma came in. Ma was not flying solo. “You have company,” she said, with a strange smile on her face. She threw in a wink for good measure. Ma, by the way, never winked. Winking wasn’t her style. Seems styles change, though.
