Chapter 25 Healing from a Hag Khaidu wandered through something like fog and water mixed into one. She kept trying to get out, or up, or underneath—she couldn’t quite understand which. In rare moments when she seemed to awaken, everything hurt, and she willingly plunged back underneath, into the comfortable murk. Sometimes she sensed that she was not moving, and it jarred her back into the real world. These moments were nearly always at night. At night, she had longer periods of lucidity.
