We turn corners at full speed before eventually slowing. We change to soundlessly creeping from room to room, hiding in doorways and ducking behind statues. Has Antonin noticed our absence yet? Is he chasing after us? Would he choose to cover up his mistakes by himself without anyone else knowing, or call for all the guards to search for us? William’s private quarters wait just down the hall. We scan the area for any lurking guards, but the corridors are empty. I sprint to the door and try to push it open. It’s locked.
