Her conversation with her mother stuck with her while Cade drove them back to her house. The little boy chattered between yawns. Cade listened and responded to everything he said. They'd picked him up from his friend's house when he'd decided he didn't want to sleep there. This happened a few times and Rose had decided she should just bring him home. She couldn't help admiring his patience. Her parents were being insufferable, and she was sure they'd be that way no matter who she brought home. Unless she agreed to date one of their choices. This happened with many women, but it was worse when your parents were professional matchmakers. Were they ever going to stop hounding her? There was nothing wrong with Cade. He wasn't a bad boy. He was a respectable man who ran his family business.
