One dollar.

Aurora's smile broadened; she needed to respond to the man's condescending query. "Sir, your company only functions thanks to my husband's telecommunications technology, his company's new innovation and progression has made you part of this meeting today," she said confidently. Some of the people standing by laughed and others were just surprised, they did not expect a woman to be knowledgeable about the business or remind them of the source of their success. Soon after that, the men left William and Aurora alone. They were no longer comfortable remaining in their presence. "That was fantastic, but next time, stay quiet, don't make people look ridiculous. The only one who can be in that position is you," he said while holding her hand tightly. For the rest of the night, Aurora remained silent. Her husband was a little aggressive, so she preferred not to chat with anyone. When William decided that it was time for them to leave the party, another man stopped and approached him. "William, you have a beautiful woman, you should lend her to me," he said. It was obvious he was a little drunk. "Do you want her?" William asked him seriously. "Who wouldn't want to spend time with such a woman?" "How much would you pay for her?" William asked. "Whatever you ask," he said, smiling. "Give me a dollar for her, and you'll spend the night enjoying her body," William said, staring directly into Aurora's eyes. The man quickly pulled a dollar out of his pocket and handed it to William. Aurora couldn't believe that she was only worth a measly dollar to her husband. "Have you gone crazy? Do you hate me so much that you would hand me over to a stranger?" Aurora asked, crying. "Please, satisfy the man who has paid for you." Since the party was at a luxury hotel, William forced Aurora to get into an elevator with the strange man. He led them to a door and forced Aurora into the room. "This room will witness what you do tonight," he said, unfeelingly. "William, don't leave me here with this man. He's drunk and I don't know him. Please have mercy on me," she pleaded as she knelt in front of him. "Mercy? Did you have any when you killed your sister with poison? Haha, don't ask for something you didn't give," were William's last words as he left the room. Aurora was left with the man, who grabbed her by the arm and lifted her off the ground. She fought desperately to stop him from touching her, but she was completely at his mercy and couldn't match his strength. "No, please, no, let me go," Aurora screamed at the top of her lungs. "I bought you, and now you'll be mine. You only cost me a dollar, and I'm going to enjoy you," the man said to her. Aurora was losing strength in her arms, she was tired and could no longer fight him off. The man tried to kiss and touch her, but with what little strength she had left, she resisted. Suddenly, the door to the room swung open and William walked in, pulling the man off his wife's body. "Enough, man," William said calmly as he moved him aside. William looked at Aurora and noticed that her makeup had smeared all over her face due to her crying and struggling. "William, you sold your wife to me for a dollar. You must fulfill your end of the bargain," the drunk man said, obviously because of the interruption. "Sir, here's your dollar," William said as he placed it in his hands. "It's not fair, a deal is a deal." "Sir, if you don't want me to talk to your wife right now, you better leave," William said calmly. At the mention of his wife, the man instantly complied and left the room. He'd rather not have his wife know about his escapades. Aurora, who had been standing until that moment, suddenly fainted. She was about to fall to the floor, but William was very quick and caught her in his arms. He carefully laid her on the bed, went to the bathroom for a wet towel, and cleaned the makeup that had run all over her face. Truly, William was acting like the most ruthless and heartless man on earth, and everything he did was to make her pay for all the suffering she caused him. After a long night, Aurora woke up still wearing her dress. She was in the room where she had almost been sexually abused. The first thing Aurora's eyes noticed was a small card on the door, so she quickly got up from bed to read it. "When you wake up, just open the door, the driver will be waiting for you to take you to the mansion. From: William," the note read. Aurora walked to the bathroom to wash her face and when she saw herself in the mirror, she noticed that her makeup had been wiped off. When she opened the door, the driver was waiting for her, so she left for the mansion. Upon arrival, she quickly entered her room, went to the bathroom, and got in the shower still fully clothed. She felt violated, that man had kissed and touched her. "How I wish I could hate you, William, but someday I will," Aurora swore in a low voice, sobbing, but her tears were being washed away by the water cascading down her body. She felt like the most unfortunate woman on the planet, she only lived to be tortured and sold for a dollar. A few hours later, Aurora decided it was better to be strong. She wouldn't give up because of what happened, especially since her life was already miserable and meant nothing to William. She was going down the stairs and William was coming up, when she suddenly stumbled, but William ended up catching her, preventing her from hitting the floor.
