Loving the Bigger Girl

Chapter 3: Mayla’s POV:

This morning we had a message from the Alpha stating everyone needed to meet at the pack conference hall. This is where a lot of meetings, dinners, parties and mating ceremonies are held. With our town being small, this hall was used a lot to different occasions. The Alpha stated he had important news to share with the pack. The conference hall was attached to the Alpha’s house. The pack members that had ranking all stayed in the same area, while the rest of the pack flooded the town.

“This better be something good for making us all meet on a Saturday morning.” Cole grumped out. “I doubt the Alpha wants to make us waste our Saturday morning in his house if it wasn’t important.” Leah stated. “Maybe he just wants to shows us all his cooking skills.” I laughed out. Both Leah and Cole looked at me. “Well it better be biscuits and gravy with mountains of bacon.” Cole spoke as his stomach growled from hunger.

“We should have fed him before we left the house.” I whispered to Leah almost so hushed she couldn’t hear it. Leah looked at me wide eyed and shook her head, we both know how Cole gets when he is hungry. “Once this meeting is over, Leah and I will make you breakfast.” I said sweetly with a smile. Cole just shook his head and laughed.

Once at the hall, every werewolf was pushing their way inside. My nose started picking up a scent and my wolf began to howl inside. He was here and my wolf knew it. She also picked up his scent last night when Connor was there. I was to focused on escaping that I told myself his scent was just stuck in my nose, but my wolf knew better. I noticed Leah next to me began shifting around, she must smell Dexter.

“Thank you everyone for meeting on such short notice and so early. The Luna and I met with Alpha Chris and his Luna Claire. We have accepted this new family into our pack with more rogues entering our territory we have decided two Alpha’s and Luna’s will be running the Sunflower pack. They have a son and a daughter, Kage and Marea. Please welcome our new members.” Alpha Sean finished his speech before handing it off to Alpha Chris. “Hello everyone, I would like to thank Alpha Sean and Luna Lena for allowing my family to join all of you.” Alpha Chris began his lecture.

I felt eyes on me, I scanned the hall and saw Connor looking at me as if he wanted to rip my head off. I rolled my eyes and turn my attention back to Alpha Chris. But then my wolf stared dancing around. I looked to see Kage staring right at me and my body began to heat up. “He is so gorgeous, look at his tattoos.” I hear other girls around me staring to snicker and stare. My wolf grew angry hearing them drool over him. “I wonder how old he is, do you think he’s found his mate?” “I hope not, I bet he does wonders.” I roll my eyes and my anger grows more as the girls continue talking about Kage and his body.

“Thank you again, Alpha and Luna.” Alpha Chris stepped away and Alpha Sean dismissed all of us. I continued to stare at Kage, before smiling and turning around to leave. I felt eyes burning into my back and I suddenly became uncomfortable. Hands wrapped around my waist and I was pulled back into the crowd. “Don’t think I didn’t see your little love stare with the Alpha’s son. You are mine, he won’t like you anyways, look at you.” Connor growled in my ear.

I threw my elbow back right into his gut, “Says that one grabbing the chubby girl in a crowd full of wolfs. Do your buddies know you like em thick? I can wait to blast it at school, the Beta’s son, chasing a chubby girl who doesn’t want him. What a shame, not even a girl like me wants a guy like you.” I turned around to face him. I looked Connor in the eyes “What a shame, it’s going to bruise that ego of yours once the whole school knows, that Mayla turned you down.” I smiled and turned around.

“If you know what’s best for you, you won’t keep denying me. I could ruin your entire family’s lives with one conversation.” Connor was pissed and I couldn’t help but laugh. “Wow, the constant turn down finally making you mad? Hmph have to run to daddy to save you? I know you are pathetic, didn’t realize it ran that deep.” Connor’s grew angrier and I could tell his wolf was just wanting to break free. “Connor, was last night not enough of a threat? Do we need to repeat it in front of the whole pack?” Cole was standing behind me.

I smiled as Connor growled deep and looked at Cole. “Mayla, this isn’t over.” Connor turned to leave, “Yes it is Connor.” Cole barked back. Without another word Cole and I both turned to leave. “Maybe with the new Alpha we can actually get rid of that prick.” Leah barked out. “I hope so, but he is still the Beta’s son.” I answered with worry in my voice. I never will let Connor know just how much he affects me. He would enjoy it to much.

“May!” I turn and see Finn running towards me. “Hey! We still going out later?” “Ya! Leah and I will be at your place by 12, we have to feed Cole first before he burns the town down.” I laugh out. “Cool, see you after a bit!” Finn ran off and I smiled after him. Before I turn to head off again, I see Kage talking to Connor. That’s odd, why would he be talking to him. As if he could hear what I was thinking, Kage looked at me and his eyes were dark. He was enraged and I’m guessing by the conversation his rage wasn’t going away soon.

“May? You coming?” Leah spoke softy, I had noticed my fist were clenched at my side and my breathing was so harsh it sounded like I just ran for 20 miles. “Ya, sorry. Kage is talking to Connor and I was just, doesn’t matter. Let’s go feed Cole.” We both headed towards home. “Cole, don’t fall asleep or we will eat all of this food!” I yell after Cole going towards his room.

“If you eat all that food, your room is getting flipped upside down and I won’t help you fix it.” Cole yelled back. He can’t do that, it would be hard to do by himself. Leah and I began making breakfast when our mom comes home. She is always working but she provides the best life for us. “Mom, we are making breakfast, go relax we will bring you a plate.”

She looked very exhausted and I could tell something was bugging her. “What’s wrong mom?” I walked in her room with a plate full of food. “Nothing May, just tired from work. I am ready to sleep.” My mom has always done everything for my siblings and me. She honestly doesn’t get enough credit. “Where’s dad?” I ask already knowing the answer. “Gone for the week, he will be back next Saturday.” she took the food and I smiled. “I love you, get some sleep. Leah and I are going out with Finn and some of his friends.” “Ok, be safe I love you.” “I love you, mom.” then I turned and shut the door, leaving her to peace and quiet.
