THREAD OF FATE
CHAPTER 34
At the Williams Fashion Show headquarters, the sewing and styling department was buzzing with activity. Staff members were chatting and laughing as they settled in for the day's work. Notably absent was Sonia, who strolled in late, flashing a bright smile.
One of her colleagues asked, "Sonia, you look like the cat that got the cream! What's got you so happy today?"
Sonia's grin widened. "I went out yesterday and had an amazing time. It was truly unforgettable!"
The staff oohed and ahhed, congratulating Sonia on her exciting adventure. Liza, however, remained quiet and detached, her expression unreadable.
Sonia caught Liza's eye and thought to herself, "I wonder how you'd feel if you knew I went out with Tylor yesterday, Liza?"
The staff members, eager to start their day, told Sonia they wanted to go to the store to get some supplies. Sonia nodded, "No problem, guys." As they left, Sonia turned her attention to Liza, who was busy sorting through fabrics.
"Hey, Liza, I and Tylor went out together yesterday, and we had a blast!" Sonia's voice dripped with sweetness, but her eyes sparkled with malice.
Liza's expression remained neutral. "That's nice, Sonia. Tylor is your friend, so it's no big deal that you two hung out." Liza's tone was polite.
Sonia's smile faltered for a moment before she regained her composure. "You shouldn't be seen with someone like Tylor. His parents won't approve of you two dating."
Liza smiled sweetly. "Thanks for your concern, Sonia, but I can handle my business." Liza turned back to her work, leaving Sonia seething with frustration.
Liza walked out of the office, taking a deep breath of the fresh air outside. As she stood there, she noticed Mrs. Vivian Williams approaching her, a smile on her face. "Hello, Liza," Mrs. Vivian said, her voice
"Hello, Liza," Mrs. Vivian said, her voice dripping with kindness. "How are you feeling today? How's work going?"
Liza smiled back, feeling a sense of ease in Mrs. Vivian's presence. "Work is fine and I'm doing well. thank you, Mrs. Vivian."
Mrs. Vivian's eyes sparkled with interest. "I haven't seen you since the last fashion show. I wanted to thank you again for the fantastic job you did. You're incredibly talented, Liza."
Liza blushed, feeling grateful for the praise. "Thank you, Mrs. Vivian.
Mrs. Vivian's expression turned thoughtful. "Liza, I was wondering if I could take you out to dinner today? Maybe after work? I'd love to show my appreciation for your hard work."
Liza was taken aback by the invitation, but she couldn't deny the warmth and kindness Mrs. Vivian radiated. "I'd love to, Mrs. Vivian. Thank you for inviting me."
Mrs. Vivian beamed with delight. "Wonderful! I'll send someone to call you when it's time. We'll have a lovely time, I promise."
As Mrs. Vivian walked away, Liza couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Vivian headed to Tylor's office. She knocked and entered, and Tylor quickly walked up to her, smiling. "Grandmother, how have you been? What brings you here?"
Mrs. Vivian's eyes sparkled with warmth. "My dear, I've missed you. You should come home. Even your siblings want you home." Tylor's expression turned thoughtful.
"Grandmother, I will come home, but not yet." Mrs. Vivian's eyes narrowed slightly. "What do you mean by not yet? We're going home together once I leave here. You can't keep staying out."
She held Tylor's hands. "Don't worry about your dad. He will never lay his hands on you again. I've told him. So, my dear, we're going home together." Tylor nodded, "Okay, Grandmother."
Mrs. Vivian smiled, "That's my boy." She turned to Tylor and said, "But I have an outing with Liza today. I met her while coming to your office, and I'm taking her out to eat. I never got to appreciate her for the last fashion show."
Tylor smiled, "No problem, Grandmother. Can I join you both?" Mrs. Vivian replied, "Why not? You're always welcome."
After the day's work, Mrs. Vivian sent someone to call Liza. Sonia heard the message and wondered why Mrs. Vivian would want to see Liza. Sonia decided to wait a bit to see what was going on.
She saw Mrs. Vivian, Tylor, and Liza walking together, heading out. Sonia quickly followed them, staying out of sight. She saw Mrs. Vivian and Liza enter Mrs. Vivian's car, while Tylor got into his own vehicle.
The three of them drove off, leaving Sonia boiling with anger. She wished she could strangle Liza at that moment, she hated Liza so much. She kept wondering where they were all heading to.
At the restaurant, Mrs. Vivian observed Tylor and Liza's interactions, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "Tylor, do you like Liza?" she asked, her voice dripping with innocence.
Liza's eyes widened in surprise, and she accidentally spat out her food. Mrs. Vivian chuckled. "You two are already dating, aren't you? I can see it in your eyes."
Tylor grinned. "Yes, Grandma, Liza and I are in a relationship. I love her."
Mrs. Vivian beamed with approval. "I know you love her, Tylor, and I can see it in your eyes. I am rooting for you both." She turned to Liza, "I like you, Liza. You're beautiful, intelligent, talented, and well-reserved. You two are perfect for each other. You're exactly what Tylor needs."
Liza was surprised by Tylor's openness, but she felt relieved that Mrs. Vivian was supportive of their relationship. She smiled, feeling grateful for Mrs. Vivian's approval. "Thank you, Mrs. Vivian," she said, her voice filled with sincerity.
After they finished dinner, they left the restaurant, Tylor dropped Liza home and headed back to his parents' house, His siblings and mother were happy to see him back home, and his dad welcomed him home as well. His grandmother's words still echoed in his mind: "i am rooting for you both."
