THREAD OF FATE CHAPTER 4 Saturday morning dawned bright and early, casting a warm glow over Liza's small but cozy bedroom. She snuggled deeper into her blankets, savoring the warmth and comfort of her bed. Sleep still lingered in her eyes, refusing to relinquish its hold. Just as she was drifting off into a peaceful slumber, her phone jolted her awake. The shrill ringtone pierced the air, making her groggily reach for the device. She struggled to open her eyes, her eyelids feeling heavy and uncooperative. "Hello?" she mumbled, her voice husky from sleep. The voice on the other end was crisp and professional. "Good morning, is this Liza Smith?" Liza's brain slowly began to function, and she sat up straight, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. "Yes, it is." "I'm calling from Williams Fashion Home," the voice announced, sending a jolt of excitement through Liza's veins. She sat up even straighter, her heart racing with anticipation. "Oh, wow!" she exclaimed, trying to sound calm despite the excitement building inside her. "We've reviewed your application, and we'd like to invite you for an interview on Monday morning at 9 am," the voice continued. "Please bring a sketchbook of your work with you." Liza's eyes widened in excitement, and she shouted, "Yes, ma'am!" four times, not realizing the caller had already ended the call. She leapt out of bed, her heart still racing with excitement. She rushed into the small cozy sitting room, where her father, Oliver, and her brother, Jayden, were watching TV. "I got the interview!" she exclaimed, bouncing up and down like a rubber ball. Her father and brother turned to her, huge smiles on their faces. "That's amazing, Liza!" her father exclaimed, opening his arms for a hug. Liza rushed into his arms, feeling like she was walking on air. She called her best friend, Helena, to share the news. Helena answered on the first ring. "Hey, girl! What's up?" she asked, her voice cheerful as always. Liza took a deep breath, trying to contain her excitement. "I got the interview at Williams Fashion Home!" she blurted out. Helena squealed, her voice echoing through the phone. "Oh my God, Liza! That's amazing! You're going to nail it, I just know it!" Liza grinned, feeling a surge of confidence. "Thanks, Helena. I'll need all the luck I can get." As she ended the call, Liza felt a sense of determination wash over her. She was going to give it her all, to show Williams Fashion Home that she had what it took to succeed. The rest of the weekend flew by in a blur of preparation and anticipation. Liza spent hours perfecting her portfolio, making sure her designs were flawless and her presentation was polished. As Monday morning dawned, Liza stood in front of the mirror, her heart pounding with excitement. She took a deep breath, smoothing out her dress and squaring her shoulders. Today was the day. Today, she would take the first step toward realizing her dreams.
