THREAD OF FATE
CHAPTER 8
Tylor's eyes lit up as he answered the phone call from Sonia. They had been close friends since their university days in Spain, and he had always cherished their friendship.
"Sonia! It's so great to hear from you!" Tylor exclaimed, his voice warm with excitement.
Sonia's laughter echoed through the phone lines. "Tylor! I'm back in the USA! I'm so excited to be back."
Tylor's grin widened. "Welcome back, Sonia! I'm thrilled to have you back in the States. We need to catch up soon."
Sonia's voice took on a playful tone. "I was thinking, since I've been away for so long, maybe you could take me out for some sightseeing? I've forgotten what the USA looks like."
Tylor chuckled. "Of course, I'd love to show you around."
Sonia's tone turned serious. "Hey, Tylor, I wanted to remind you about our last conversation before I moved back. You said you'd help me get settled at your company."
Tylor's expression turned reassuring. "Don't worry, Sonia, I've already secured a place for you. You're all set."
Sonia's sigh of relief was audible. "Thanks, Tylor. I really appreciate it."
As they made plans to meet up later that evening, Tylor couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. He had always valued his friendship with Sonia, and he was thrilled to have her back in the USA.
Later that evening, Tylor pulled up outside his company, where Sonia was waiting for him. She looked stunning in a red dress, her long hair cascading down her back like a waterfall.
As they drove through the city, Tylor pointed out various landmarks and attractions. Sonia laughed and chatted, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
As they parked and decided to trek to some nearby scenic spots, Tylor suddenly stopped in his tracks. "You again!" he exclaimed, his eyes locked onto a familiar figure.
Liza, the beautiful woman he had spilled coffee on earlier that day, looked up in surprise. She was walking with a friend, Helena, who eyed Tylor with interest.
"Hi," Liza said, her cheeks flushing. "I'm so sorry again for yelling at you that day."
Tylor waved his hand dismissively. "No problem, really. It was my fault for not watching where I was going."
Sonia, who had been quietly observing the exchange, suddenly spoke up. "Tylor, who's she?" Her voice was laced with a hint of jealousy.
Tylor's expression turned neutral. "Just someone I met by accident. Nice meeting you, though," he said, nodding at Liza and Helena.
As they parted ways, Sonia turned to Tylor with a questioning gaze. "Who was that woman?" she asked again, her voice tinged with curiosity.
Tylor shrugged. "Like I said, just someone I met by accident."
Sonia's eyes narrowed, but she said nothing more. Tylor breathed a silent sigh of relief, grateful that the conversation had been diverted.
As they continued their trek, Tylor couldn't shake off the feeling that he had just encountered something special. He glanced back, hoping to catch another glimpse of Liza, but she was nowhere to be seen.
"I hope we cross paths again," he said to himself, a slow smile spreading across his face.
